PSU: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-730SS 730W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply
    HDD: Seagate 1tb 7500

    Build i'm thinking of

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

Looks good to me, only changes I would make is making sure you have a decent CPU cooler (CM 212 EVO is the common cheap go-to).

Also, I would personally ditch the Radmax PSU and get a new one. For a "730w" PSU, it only delivers a real 550w. While that's still technically enough, that kind of whitepaper misrepresentation indicates poor manufacturing. A good 500w PSU is better than a crappy 10,000w PSU, because the parts are likely meh.

I'd look at good deals on XFX psus, they keep getting recommended on here so something like a XFX 550w I'd have thought would be sufficient for your requirements.

Yeah, XFX is pretty much the go-to, simply because they're good quality and often cheaper. If your Raidmax has been working, you can in theory keep it... But it makes me nervous. It's sort of like driving your car with the check engine light on. The car handles and runs fine but there's still... something not quite right. Will your car explode any moment? Probably not. It might even be something harmless like some air flow problem that is reducing your mpg by a tiny bit.. But it could also be something like a piston not firing, or a large hose/gasket leak.

It's a gamble that I wouldn't take, but if it's been like that for this long, it may be fine.

So more or less something like XFX TS Series P1-550G-TS3X 550W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply would be what you guys recommend from looking at it and things i've read they look pretty solid.

Eh. My opinion is "Why spend $85 on something that costs $60 and is just as good" $25 is $25.

I like how the title says gold, but it's description says bronze...
Just go for similar minus the "gold" lable...
