    Suggestion about Realm population balance

I don't know if Blizzard has said anything about it specifically but it's gotten to be a pretty big problem on some realms. For example Illidan-US where the Alliance has just a 5% population there. I personally think that this screws up the game for everyone by making pvp ques incredibly long, screwing up the auction house and basically ruining the game for everyone on those realms. So, my suggestion is at a certain point to preserve some idea of faction balance is that Blizzard place a hold on anyone making any new character for whatever faction has the majority of the population until things start to balance themselves out. It's simple enough honestly and with a little vigilance on Blizzard's part i think it may work. Oh and maybe, just maybe they could offer free faction changes on those realms to help expedite the process. They really should look at closing realms too that don't have that many players on them and giving those people that are on them free transfers off to realms that are a bit more active. What do you people think?

First, your PvP queues draw from all the realms in your battlegroup, so faction balance on any given realm only matters if it is a PvP realm with no cross realm action.

As to closing low pop realms, they are accomplishing the same thing by their merging of realms. Worse, some players like being on a low pop realm, so closing that realm is not fair to them.

Players dont want balanced realms in the first place. It is much easier to be majority and grief the other faction.

Can't imagine who would like playing on a low population realm. Doesn't really seem like they'd be able to do anything.

Wonder where you came up with that idea. lol

As someone else said, heavily one faction PVP servers evolve because that's what players like. It, of course, removes much of the meaningful world PVP from PVP servers but I'm not saying anyone's a hypocrite.

I do wonder about those players who play the lower percentage faction on PVP servers. They must be either hardly souls or masochists.

I used to play on high pop realm, god, it was a nightmare. So much competition about quest mobs, about ores/herbs, polluted trade chat with crazy amount of trolling with so many messages going in 1 second. Not much of relaxing experience.
Now, on low to mid populated realms, it is much more relaxing, tighter community, lot of familiar names. Can do it all thru queuing - lfd, lfr, pvp, pet battles, ordos , celestials thru cross realm, dont miss anything.

Idea of unbalanced realms came from logic - if realms were balanced before, why would they suddenly become unbalanced? Players left to servers where they were majority, making leaving and destionation servers both unbalanced.
