Yeah, I know it was for "fun" OP, but that was just a terrible idea which would result in the opposite of fun.

    • The grind is far too much, for anyone. It would promote botting/multiple people on one account. Also excludes healers.
    • Extra stats and stuff means it's more about the weapon than the player.
    • One shotting players means no fun [after a while, I guess], plus it's fun to kill PvEers.

I think the OP was just throwing out ideas, it doesn't have to necessarily one shot players or any of that. Don't take it so seriously, guys. :]

I for one would love to have something like this in the game, though I do agree that hero/gladiator titles should not be a requirement for it, seeing as those players already get unique titles/mounts, not to mention all other pvp rewards like tabards, transmog, enchants etc.

However, what I would do is: the legendary would confer no advantage in arena/RBG. BUT, it would confer all sorts of ridiculous advantages that work only in random BGs and skirmishes. Stuff like constant 30% speed increase, a constant % based hot on wearer, etc. Fun stuff, rly.

I know right. Blizzard wouldn't be stupid enough to add a weapon with 3 gem sockets, vastly superior stat allocation and a proc that allows you to dominate practically everyone. That would be totally stupid right!

Should be cosmetic, or be similar to pandaria legendaries

What I read from OP is that you want a uber-super-awesome recognition for a very tiny group of the most elite pvp-ers.

I think a legendary PvP quest could (and should) be added to the game, but considering Blizzard's approach to legendaries in MoP it would look like this:

The legendary quest giver is the Arathi Basin NPC.

    1. Collect 10 torn flag pieces from both Warsong Gulch and Twin Peaks. Torn Flag Pieces have a low drop chance upon winning the said BG.
    2. Earn honored with your Arathi Basin faction.
    -------------------------
    3. Witness a vision of Arathi Basin being won by your faction in a random group and recieve your first legendary component: tabard with your faction's emblem and 5% pvp power (yup, a tabard with stats).
    -------------------------
    4. Kill Lei Shen and Garrosh on raid finder difficulty while wearing only crafted or honor pvp gear
    5. Collect 6600 conquest points.
    5. Get revered with your Arathi Basin faction.
    -------------------------
    7. Collect 20 Tokens of the Neverqueued, gathered from winning Alterac Valley or Silvershard Mines. 1 token per week is guaranteed for winning Alterac Valley (if you're horde) or Silvershard Mines (if you're ally)
    8. Talk to the NPC to receive an enchant for the tabard awarding additional 5% pvp power.
    -------------------------
    9. Earn exalted with your Arathi Basin faction
    10. Collect 12 Tokens of Patience. Tokens of Patience have a very low drop chance from Deepwind Gorge. One token per week is guaranteed when your faction wins by holding all 3 bases and capping a cart
    11. Kill Ordos four times, every time standing at the opposite corner of his courtyard.
    -------------------------
    12. Talk to the NPC to receive a new tabard replacing the old one. The tabard has an huge emblem of your faction, +15% pvp power and a glowing effect triggering every time you deal a killing blow (lightbringer effect just red for horde and blue for alliance)

Sarcasm and jokes aside, I'd really love a legendary tabard like that.
