    Building Advice Needed.

    Hey guys.

I'm looking for some building advice. Its been about 2 years since I built my last Rig; and my girflriends computer hasn't been updated since like 2007 (She is still running DDR2 Ram)

I'm looking to spend about 2k on her rig (Maybe 2.5k) she basically just needs it for High End games like 20man Raiding and pretty graphics.

and I'm looking to spending 3k or 3.5k on my own rig; however not only does mine need to be able to run games flawlessly but also streaming and precessing video footage for youtube.

Does anyone have any suggestions at where I should start? I've fallen out of the computer scene as of late because of IRL stuff. Is it better to order from ibuypower? Not sure what to do.

$2k and $3.5k for a gaming rig? Do you need to spend that much or want to? The Intel X99 setups are plenty expensive and you could get a couple of Nvidia 980's in SLI. BTW nothing much has changed since DDR2 days of computing.

But if you're afraid of building your own IBuyPower x99 machines are a good place to start. But honestly anything past $800 and you aren't getting much more in terms of WoW raiding if any.

I have to agree with Duke, is there a need to spend that much.

Sorry I've been at work all day.

The 2k to 2.5k and 3k to 3.5k are basically my limits for spending. It's not saying I WANT to use that much. I know not much has changed from DDR2 to now; but when her computer takes 5 minutes to turn on and lags visually when starting at Fight on 10man... AFTER I hav reformatted and such for her to make sure things are clean... its time for an upgrade.

I do prefer Nvidia over ATI (Bad experiences with ATI cards) and was wondering if the 980's are better then their titans as I see not many websites like ibuypower have the titans listed anymore.

The 980's are the new kings of graphics. Titan is now a bigger waste of money than before.

What games are you going to be playing, monitors are you going to be pushing? With those spending limits the sky is the limit to a degree. Give me some!

Would it be worth it to SLI two 980ti's?

Also thank you for the list of parts.

Moremana - I myself will be play WoW; League; Diablo and various steam games. I dont have any monitors that are all the same size but I would like to be able to run 3 of the same size probably 23" to 24"

Only reason to SLI is if you go with 4k monitors. But no seriously, 980ti is overkill for WOW, League, and Diablo. Unless you plan to play other games like FarCry 4 or Battlefield type games then why spend more?

Alright. I play BF and such on my xBone. It wont be till like the middle of november (right after WoD's launch) That I really start looking into getting the systems set up and good to go; so hopefully the 980ti will be out around then.
