    WoD Alt Friendly?

I am trying to find a "main" character right now and its driving me crazy because I can never just like one class. I always have to have a main and an alt

Anyway with the implementation of garrisons, are we not going to have enough time to play an alt? In MoP with all the dailies it was almost impossible for me to play another character because of how much time they took up.

So is WoD alt friendly even with garrisons?

2 garrisons aren't a lot of work, but altoholics are going to have a bad time.

I guess my question is, how long will it take to do your garrison dailys

Garrisons don't seem to be as time consuming as I thought they would be since a big chunck of the "work" done there seems to be made by your minions even when you're not online, so I don't see it being too hard on alts.

One thing is certain, it won't be as difficult to keep alts up to speed as it was in early MoP.

I imagine garrisons don't take up much more of your time than the farm did. You plop into a a few buildings, do some work orders and then maybe go on a quest or two. Overall i'd say it's massive improvement over a few rounds of dailies per character. You'll end up with much more free time for other, main event type activities.

You may have to live with not optimizing garrisons much on alts.

WoD leveling won't be that bad. Managing garrisons might be a headache if only because follower missions, work orders, making sure you've built your garrisons optimally to support each other.

There's a little more involved than just harvesting food and doing dailies.

You can level with RaF 1-90 in a few hours now with the new objective XP stacking with bonus XP. Stack on an elixir of ancient knowledge on top of all of this and it's just game over.

Even without RaF, the leveling process seems a lot more sped up completing both an objective and a dungeon at the end of an instance run.

As it pertains to 90-100, I have no idea. I doubt garrisons will be that hard of an upkeep
what is dungeon objective xp? what do you mean with wod leveling

you have a base "quest" of completing all the bosses by default for each instance. That "quest" alone is giving me a half a lvl at 50+ atm

Oh please. It just means we have more to do. Playing lots of alts has always meant you switch to whatever character you feel like playing and maybe put extra effort on a 'main'. It doesn't mean you min/max every single character and powerlevel everything. That would burn anyone out.

It's always rough trying to combine being a 'completist' with being an 'altoholic'. I enjoy doing 'everything' on one toon and using the rest for the sake of varying roles and questing experiences.

I was hoping we could skip most of the Garrisson stuff with gold on alts, after doing it on main.

I don't mind wasting 300,000g on Garrissons for all my Alts because I know that gold will come back after a while from it.

No VP upgrades definitely makes it more alt friendly, and lots more BoE gear. There's still the matter of the legendary questline, but I think there's going to be catchup mechanisms this time around. Blueprints are also account wide once unlocked [still probably have to buy them]

They should have implemented an option where on an alt you have the choice to choose whether to start your own garrison or use your mains.

Really anything more than two garrisons to manage becomes a pain in the ass.

Not very alt friendly, garrisons should be BoA - Same Server / Faction tbqh.

It really depends how much of a rush you're in to get work order mats and crafted items and how much rtime you have to commit.

Clearing the mine and garden and sending out your followers once is about 15-20minutes. If you add a lumbermill and a barn you're looking at a lot longer. If you have a storehouse and lvl3 buildings you can queue 6 days of work orders at a time so they become something you do as and when rather than a daily routine. Given how useful the Barn is that's probably one you'll want a few of but if you stack the work orders you can pretty easily alternate between the character you're trapping on each night and keep a few running.

2hours a night can probably run 4-5 garrisons and 1 barn whilst also doing the daily hub area.

WoD is probably the most alt friendly expansion to date, assuming that you won't be utilizing your garrisons to the max, if you do it's your own choice

    There is no:

    - Profession capping
    - Reputation farming
    - Attunements
    - Grindy legendary quests
    - Dungeon blocks

    etc. etc.

Now if i misinterpreted the OP and this was about min/maxing your alt garrisons, then yeah it will be a massive time sink, otherwise alt life is easy in WoD
