    Balance bar question

Ok so I'm like 99% sure of this but I'm going to ask anyways.

When you start casting starfire or wrath in it's respective cycle, but the cast ends in the other cycle, do you get the damage from where you started casting or ended casting? I'm 99% sure it is where you started casting since I've tested it in game but im not 100% sure.

The damage is calculated at the end of your cast. Because of this mechanic it's important to start pre-casting Starfire when you're about to enter lunar and Wrath when you're about to enter solar.

Damage modifiers on your character are calculated, when the spell is finished casting.

its also good to know that if u cast starsurge as you cast your first wrath into solar, it gets the 30% bonus damage from empowered without consuming an empowered. cant do this for starfire as its an instant hit where as wrath has a travel time.

What if you are in lunar and you know that if u cast starfire it will finish outside of lunar, but if you cast wrath it will finish inside, both of which are bad.

No, because if you compare wrath and starfire, one starfire is 2x wrath, meaning that the first wrath will land inside lunar and the second inside solar thus generating more dps than landing one starfire in solar.

Then use Starfire, as it is slightly stronger than Wrath.

    Edit:

Also, this is incorrect. In that case the damage of wrath is calculated before SS buffs it.

Both wrong, how do you even make this shit up? Just test it and you'll see the results...

I was wondering... it's calculated when the spell leaves your hands or lands on target? With Starfire this is easy, as it lands instantly, but for Wrath... if it goes at the end of solar but lands the target in lunar it's a huge difference then.

Damage modifiers like eclipse, which are on your character are calculated when the cast is finished and the spell leaves your hand.
Damage modifiers on the target, like the armor on the Siegemaker at Blackhand, are calculated when the spell hits the target.

So to make it clear: It doesn't matter for your damage if wrath has to travel a bit before hitting the target.
