    Q3 Sub Speculation

It is time for Q3 subscription speculating! What do you think Blizzard will be at in Q3? I'm prediciting 800K to 1 million sub losses because of course the bleeding will slow down. (It lost 2.9 million in Q1, then 1.5 million in Q2, So I'm guessing 800k -1 million in Q3)

If no news of a patch 6.3 filler content raid/zone, likely another 1 to 1.5 million gone.

Hopefully they can put out some type of content in between 6.2 and 7.0.

I predict another million loss. Sad day for WoW. Hopefully this is a wake up call for Blizzard so they can get the next expansion right.

I think we don't have to take the 1.5m losses in Q2 as a proof of anything. Don't forget that the banwave occured right after the Q1 numbers.

4.5 - 5m would seem "great" seeing the failure WoD has become

Wow, you don't waste any time do you!?

There's no new content out to save them this time, so I think we're going to see at least another 1.6 million gone.

Q2 had the help of a new patch dropping a week before it launched, and the new token system which had to have helped stop the bleeding. They're claiming the token system was a success, so that means it kept subs in the game that would have been out of the game.

If WoD ends with more than 4 million subs, I'd be shocked. I honestly thought Q2, we weren't going to see any sub drops because of the fact of the token and the patch release date, but man was I wrong. If you still lose 1.5 million people and throw everything you can at it to pad that numbers, you better believe you're on a sinking ship.

So I'm predicting it now; 4 million subs by the end of WoD if they're lucky, (probably closer to 3 would be a better guess) and the expansion after WoD won't go above 7.5 million. (Unless they give it away for free, which they should.)

They've pretty much confirmed there's nothing else coming with their "6.2 was the last major content patch of the expansion."

Likewise, I hope it is a wake up call, but I honestly think they've got their heads so up their collective asses that they don't see just how big of a failure WoW has become. Almost every single person that has an interview for them always says, "We're happy with the direction WoW is going and how the people are enjoying the content." Hell, even during the Twitch stream, Mike Morhiem kept saying they were happy with their numbers and sales. I guess that's all it is anymore, sales. To hell with making a good, quality, when it's ready game, just shove the sub par garbage out the door and call it a day.

Yeah, consider that WoD is mostly a failed expansion that contains little to none of real content to retain the players. It is understandable why alot of players are leaving WoW due to lack of content. But since Blizzard is delaying on the flight, it is easily another million sub loss.

Meaning FFXIV will be the top contender and WoW will be second contender if WoW ever slips below 4 million sub. lol

Hard to say, i was expecting Q2 to have a max 500k loss if even that. I was under the impression the tokens will help a lot, yet here we are with 1.5 million players loss.

If they don't add anything to the game and the next expansion reveal is poorly received i expect about 700k to 1million loss again.

I'm in the same boat as you. I wasn't expecting such a major dip.

Overall though, a reveal isn't going to do much to keep people in game. If anything it will push them out because, "Why should I bother to continue to gear up? You're already on the next expansion so everything I'm doing now is meaningless." Unless they add stuff for us to do right now no announcement is going to matter.

I'm confident WoW is already below 5 mln.
My guess is that at the end of Q3, if no new content comes, they will announce the sub numbers went down below 4 mil.

The interesting part is going to be Q4. That's where it might get dramatic.

I think the one hope they have of it not going down too much is that the reveal is taken insanely well and people decide to come back to get prepped. I was one going into this quarter thinking it wouldn't be that bad, more in the 500k-750k loss range. If people hate what they see then look out, they could be 3 million or lower by the time it hits ( and if they don't add anything it may be anyways)

I also have to wonder just how bad the numbers got hammered right after the original no-flying announcement. They said the change in mind wasn't from " whining on the forums" which means to me they saw something pretty incredible after the announcement that made them take a step back. Really makes me wonder how many people clicked unsub that day.

Nice biased poll. Just how I like it.
    Way too soon to tell.

Q3 is the July-September period, correct?
With no sign of a content patch on the horizon I'm predicting a 1 million loss.

no, people like you and the devs not realizing that WoW has fundamental flaws and cannot be ignored any longer is why WoW is "going shit"

Well there's a new expansion being announced tomorrow so I think that it will manage to hold steady mostly. Losses, but not as much as this last drop.

The last sheep wasn't born yesterday, Q3 and the coming announcement to start the hype-train, it could well net them positive gains, though as hard as I try.., I will not understand why people would pay a subscription for the bowl of snot that is today's WoW when they can get equal or more content on facebook etc!
