I'm seriously worried for Freddie lounds....now we've hit the red dragon story. It is NOT a good time for reporters to be popping up :S I find the actress such a babe.

not me, its my second favorite show of all time after doctor who but it is a niche show that gets if its a lucky day 0.5, to be honest hannibal shouldnt have been renewed the first time, the fact it got 3 seasons is LITERALLY a miracle when you look at the numbers its got.

hannibal is quite frankly the only show i know of in HISTORY to survive based on actual quality, and only because the show itself has such incredibly cheap production costs that nbc liked it enough they could afford to keep what was essentially a dead show on air for three seasons.

hannibal like the character is a once in a lifetime type of thing, on something like amazon or netflix where the ratings threshold is much much much lower and where ALL views are counted it could survive, and in fact if it wasnt for the previous contract with amazon prime and the fact that amazon wanted them to make season 4 of hannibal right away which woukdve conflicted with fullers schedule on american gods and dancy and mads schedules it wouldve already been renewed. by them.

NO ONE, EVER! should be made at nbc for cancelling hannibal. EVER, were LUCKY hannibal got three seasons.

first season had terrible ratings, and i knew it probably would get cancelled, but it defied the odds and got renewed.

second season i had no hope whatsoever it would be renewed and somehow unquestionably just like hannibal it escaped cancellation,

so when it got cancelled this season, all i did was applaud nbc for giving me not 1, but 3 seasons of one of the greatest television shows of the highest quality ive ever seen.

all we can do is be happy. if it somehow resurfaces again someday somehow, all we can do is be grateful, anyone who isnt, honestly is either ignorant of the situation or is simply a jerk.

lets be honest here, i dont believe nbc made ANY money off of hannibal, at most they got back enough to not lose money. it was a purely passion project in an industry where passion projects just dont happen.

this wasnt a case where people made a petition and social media movement and a company said "hmm maybe we should try one more time to make money off of that" this is, as far as my knowledge goes, the only time a company said "i wanna make this because its a good show and even if it doesnt do well no one can argue that its not good"

regardless of the ratings it got, nbc can always use hannibal now and forever as a symbol of creative freedom, quality, and passon. regardless of money

Wow, fantastic write up on the show cancellation. I hadn't realized the situation at all. Very glad we got 3 seasons out of it.

Just finished the most recent episode last night. So good. I loved Hannibal sort of teaching Abigail and becomming a defacto father figure before the season finale of 2. Also, Freddie is so, so done for. She is very attractive, but is it bad I'm curious to see how she goes down?

And the more I watch, god how I wish Season 4 with Clarice would go down. So sad to know it's over in like 3 episodes.

That actress though...makes me wanna move to Canada. Such a pretty face. I have a feeling shes gona help jack and will write something nasty about the red dragon in the papers to try lure him out. Fuller might go a different root though.

When you rewatch the older hannibal movies its almost cartoony. Mads not only looks and sounds more like hannibal, but he actually makes you feel like he could be telling you stories of ancient history while pouring you wine then just stab you in the throat at any moment. Hopkins just kinda acts like a crocodile, just staring at you with dead eyes. Respect for the time period though. Silence of the lambs was a cultural hit, but it doesnt really hold up that well.

Hannibal still causing shit even in jail, got wills address and has the red dragons support :S troubling times ahead. Loved the scene with will talking to hannibal and wills face was reflected over hannibals on the glass of the prison wall.

The imagery like that is one of the best parts of the show. It's an all around beautifully put together show.

I kind of disagree with people on how Hannibal "should sound like". He is highly educated and a very meticulous person who would probably assume RP English and leave his old accent behind. Higher the education, the more people adapt this type of English.

Maybe. But you gotta admit the European accent really suits the character. Gives him a touch more sense of class without being contrived.

It suits him as a someone with Eastern-European descent, but on the other hand it maybe doesn't suit him as a highly educated perfectionist who wants to blend in. Both interpretations are, in my opinion, valid.

I just watched the last episode of season 3, and I loved it. Every second of it.

Just watched it myself. Brilliant episode from start to finish. So sad it's over, but fantastic finish even if it wasn't their initial plan.

My god. the ending was so brutal and yet... so beautiful! I found myself holding my breath throughout the whole scene and didn't even realize it. Hannibal is definitely one of my all time favorite shows. The creators were able to take gruesome and brutal deaths and make them artistic-like.

Ohmygod I can't stop watching it, almost finished season 1 in 2 days. This is so depressing yet I can't stop myself.

I hate horror movies, I can't watch them, yet somehow this is special.
