Stupid Questions Foreigners Have Asked You?

What are some stupid/ignorant/funny/ridiulous questions/comments you've gotten from foreigners when visitng other countries or on the internet? As a German, the only things I can think of is when I was asked whether I support the Nazi Party, or if kids are allowed to drink alcohol in Germany.

I've gotten that a few times. To be fair, a lot of people do carry guns here, but you're very unlikely to get shot unless you do something really stupid.

    "have you ever been shot?"

The only one I would consider kinda dumb, other than that, nah I dont think any questions are dumb, because they cant really know the answer if they never lived here.

    I am portuguese.
I was in Spain for vacation at Lloret de Mar.
An arab comes to me and asks me: "Excuse me, do you speak english?"
I answered: "Yes, a little bit."
And then he said: "Good! <proceeds to speak arab>"

And no, it wasn't "poor english".
There was no english in his words.)

I just walked away after about 5 seconds...

If I ever go to the UK, I'm staying with you. I have a crippling fear that someone will force me to drink nasty leaf-water.

    For mine:
"Wow, how do you speak English so well?"
"New Mexico is a state in the US. I'm not from Mexico. I only know how to speak English."

Like try not to ask questions you know may be insulting?

I met some girls in Estonia back in the day who used to be walking tour guides, mostly for the cruise ships that would come into Tallinn. They hated the British and Finnish the most because they were drunken boors, but the older Americans could be obnoxious too, asking questions like, "Do you have paved roads outside the city?" "Have you heard of the Internet?" "Do you have Televisions?" Here they are standing in this beautiful city where Skype was developed and they're asking insulting questions about the wealth of the country. If you think a country might not be wealthy, the last thing you should do is ask questions about their supposed poverty.

It always vaguely annoys me when I'm abroad and people say, "You're not a typical American." I know what they're trying to say is, "I like you," but the way it comes across is, "Your country is full of backwards assholes who I hate. I'm glad you're so different!" And I always want to ask, "Oh really? How many Americans do you know? Because we may have our dumbasses, but no more nor less than any other part of the world."

I once had to explain to an American lady why we do not celebrate the 4th of July in the UK, this was also the same person that put ice in red wine.

I can't choose between "Why do you think womens quota are sexist" and "Are you a nazi?" (I was defending the validity of an argument made by the Sverigedemokraterna, about how welfare-immigrants drains the state for money that could have been used to help the elderly. Apparently the other swedish parties have a propaganda-thing against Sverigedemokraterna).

"Have you ever been shot" or "Have you shot anyone" are probably the most common.

Some variation on "Don't you wish you weren't so backward" is second (sometimes that comes right after one of the top two).
