Poll: Should disc get cascade baseline

  1. #1

    Should Discipline get cascade baseline?

Apparently cascade has been removed, but i honestly think that this spell is perfect for discs new playstyle and really embodies the new gameplay

I am talking about the original version!
The version where it bounced between ally and enemy, not the current one where it only bounces between allies/enemies
Also just for clarification, remove the increased effect for distance traveled for a more standard damage.

This combines healing and offensive gameplay together much better than divine star and halo and would be a great way to kick off their atonement healing, allowing you to mark several targets and heal/damage with one GCD

    Anyone else agree?

Wow that negativity, Just for clarification, im talking about the version that bounces between enemies and allies not the current live version!
If you disagree, please state why

Mainly went Halo cause cascade is bugged as shit now, hitting pets 50% of the time (or more if u got loads of pets in raid). I know you arent talking about the live version but the fact its still not been fixed on live atm, doesnt make me want it in Legion that much tbh. Other reason is cause after swiching to halo cause of the bug, i feel i kinda prefer that more now (aside from DS on stacked fights).

Right, I guess i see the negativity there then. Also, i think im confusing the gameplay a little, i havent used it on live, but i thought it bounced between enemies and allies?

Considering Disciplines new gameplay though, halo CANT apply attonement, because it will hit everything in the raid making it too powerful, divine star potentially the same, cascade on the other hand kind of fits Discs new atonement gameplay perfectly and would be a great way to set atonement up at the start of a fight and merging the shadow/holy theme

Also the ability resembles penance, so bonus for that!

No only to allies, same for halo and DS. And for some stupid reason to FULL HP pets making at least 50% of it wasted and in short useless spell. But i guess there is a reason they removed cascade and have ds/halo maybe not apply atonment. Really have to wait for legion to judge how disc will be and what spells are good or not.

How would you feel about the version i suggested? bouncing between enemies and allies?

this game is already random enough and such random spells which doesnt require any skill to use them are not very good for the game.. especially in pve where you dont really think when you use it and in pvp the only thought that might go through your head is that you could break cc with your cascade..

I'd like to see it survive one form or another just because I like the animation so much.

What animation, it has been bugged for ages now

Monks already have that ability, Chi Wave.

If discipline got the ability, it should probably be like the shadow version and just hit enemies (and trigger Atonement healing). That would make it an interesting ability for fights with a bunch of adds at times and reward proper usage of it. I don't really see why it should be baseline, though. Being a talent would be fine.
That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die.

sucks that cascade is getting removed - it had a really cool visual and was really nice when things were super spread out, whether healing or dps.

I say yes, but have it be a choice between allies or enemies, not both. Additional would love it if halo healed and damage enemies, but might be to OP.

I'd like Cascade in any form as long as the animation remains. It looked cool bouncing around the raid team

So don't get me wrong I love cascade, and I am sad to see go. I don't think it should be a baseline spell for Disc(despite Disc always seems have less AoE Utility), but even as a talent it is clunkier then Halo & Divine Star. You know where your halo is going, and Divine star is a very control friendly mechanic(happy to see it stay).

Cascade is none of these, it is effectively the most spray and pray spell Priests have. And everything else Disc is turning into is a very control oriented spec. Every spell you cast will have a predictable outcome as far as where your spells are landing. That is why I am thinking Cascade is on the Chop Block and I don't disagree with the reasoning.

Love the animation though, should be a minor glyph to make Halo look like Cascade

Great ability, totally feels and looks more like it should be a holy spell though IMO not disc.

I like Cascade... I play in a guild with very few pets so I'm actively using it and it's a fantastic tool in my Priest's arsenal.

But it doesn't feel like it vibes well with Blizzard's goals for Discipline Priests in Legion. We're supposed to feel like a balance of Light and Dark right? Cascade just feels like a big old bucket of AoE smart heal and trying to balance that out by saying "But look, it hit an enemy!!!!!" seems like it's trying too hard to turn a clearly great Light spell into something 'else'

What I'd much rather see Blizzard do is look at the niche that Cascade filled for Disc. Healing in WoD and ask what spell they could provide that replaced that utility while still falling in line with the whole Light and Shadow mission statement. Pulling this idea straight out of my butt... but how about this:

    Spell Name
Siphons A% Health from the highest B players. Bounces to the lowest C players restoring D+E% health to each player, up to F. For every player healed in this way the effect is reduced by G%. Health siphoned cannot take a player below H% health.

Are you sure about that? Tier procs and such count as pets aswell. So all those moonkin Fey Moonwing, extra hunter pets, mage tier images, priest/mage/shaman/monk pets ect.

Pretty sure even if u end up hitting only a few full hp pets alot of healing is lost already and Halo just outwins it by far.
