    [WeakAuras] Empowered Mannoroth's Gaze & Mark of the Legion

    Hey guys,

    I've been asked a few times now regarding WeakAuras I wrote for Empowered Mannoroth's Gaze and Archimonde's Mark of the Legion for Mythic HFC. So I thought I'd share them here and explain them a bit. Maybe they can help a few people who are still progressing on those two encounters.

    First off, Empowered Mannoroth's Gaze. When we were progressing Mannoroth, we often had the problem that p3 attempts died to gazes being soaked with too little people, causing one or a few deaths, or by too many people, causing a huge pool that caused extra strain on the healers. We got our first kill even without the aura, just yoloing the gazes, but relying on essentially luck is not what I like.
    The aura will basically assign a number of soakers to each gaze target, taking into account that tanks and people with Wrath of Gul'dan can't soak and that melee would prefer to stay on the boss. It assigns them based on role, going range > healer > melee. Everyone that is supposed to soak will see a raid marker (6-8) with the persons name right below it and also /say something. For everyone else the aura won't trigger.
    The pastebin contains the "default settings", but you can change them to your liking. They can be found in the Actions > OnInit custom code. Just change whatever you see needed and do a /reload. The default is 2 soakers per gaze, which we found sufficient to not get people killed and have pools with a decent size so we could survive Empowered Shadowforce.
    One person with either lead or assist should change the setMark option to true, so they will put rt6-8 on the peoples head. I recommend telling people to turn off the say they do from their boss mod because that will block the sight of the raid marks above their heads, making it harder for soakers to find their assigned gaze target.

    The second aura is for Archimonde's Mark of the Legion. There are a few ones floating around the internet but most of them I saw needed you to assign people to groups and whatnot. I didn't really like the idea of changing the aura everytime someone else is in for progress or a kill (we don't have a fixed 20 man roster), so I created my own that will do the assignments dynamically.
    Regarding positions for the 4 camps: Looking at the boss, we place rt4 as the left melee camp, rt3 as the right melee camp, rt2 as the right ranged camp, and rt1 as the left ranged camp. Basically starting at melee left with 4 and going clockwise down to 1. So since the boss is in the east of the platform iirc, it will look something like this:
    Code:
    RT1     RT4
                    Boss
    RT2     RT3
    The aura has a few options as well, most notably how you want to assign the people with Mark of the Legion to the world markers. It's the sortByDuration option, which is false in the pastebin. This means people will be assigned alphabetically, the same way that the people soaking will always be assigned. If that is changed to true, the Marks are assigned like most boss mods and other auras I know will, by order of application and therefore duration of the Mark. RT1 will always have the 5 second Mark, RT4 the 11 second Mark. We found the first option better (which is the reason for it being in the pastebin), because it guarantees that melee can stay on the boss even if they get marks with low durations, which would usually be in the back (except if you have a very heavy melee lineup, which we recently had, because he will occassionally mark a third melee).
    So how does the ordering of the soakers work: It looks if you are a melee or ranged and starts "filling" the soakers from the left, meaning if you are a melee and your name is starting with an "A", you are most likely going to end up at RT4. Same goes for ranged with a "low" name, but they'll start at RT1 obviously. If there are more melee than ranged or the other way around, it'll go from RT2 to RT3 and RT3 to RT2. Tanks are fixed to RT4, though you can change that in the options, too.
    It'll spread people out evenly, 5 for every spot if everyone is alive, but this will help you survive Marks if a few people have died.
    People should be aware that being a ranged and having your name start with "C" for example will mean that you are most likely going to be at RT1 as a soaker. If you get the Mark however, you might end up in different places more often. If only 1 melee gets a Mark and the other ranged's names start with "A" and "B", you will get assigned to RT3. So staying somewhat in the center of the 4 world markers before Mark of the Legion is cast is still recommended.
    The aura will show everyone the world mark they have to stand at. It'll also have a text beneath saying "mark" or "soak". We let the marked people stand exactly on the world marker and the soakers can orient themselves on the world marker as well, so people don't have to react to other people's movements.
    The marked players will also /say their position and do a countdown. Though be careful, we had many problems with people having other auras or bossmods do /says and going to the position from that say, which will be the wrong one should you use the non-duration-sorted version like we do. Just get people to focus on the symbol shown in the WeakAura.
    One person with lead or assist can turn on the setMarks option, but it isn't really needed as it is for the Gaze aura, because people will go to world markers and not marks above someones head.

    Both auras have a debug option, which will spit out many prints if you want to figure out what is going on or if something is going wrong.

    I hope these auras and explanations help some people with progression on those bosses. The most recent versions can always be found at my pastebin, though I don't expect these two auras to change anymore.

    Greetings
    Hamsda

    p.s.: oops, this has gotten longer than I thought... my apologies

    Always love the auras you make and the complete explanations you give as to how they work, thank you very much.

    For the Mark of the Legion aura which marks is it using/how do I input the world markers the guild is using. Or does the aura simply say RT1 and not a specific color? Right now my guild is using the following markers which correspond to your example in the following manner:
    RT4 = Orange
    RT3 = Yellow
    RT2 = Green
    RT1 = Purple

    I appreciate the technical complexity of it, but I think it's unneeded in most raid teams. Why not have the whole raid team figuring out to spread themselves between gazes? Did you try it and you had problems doing it in that intuitive way?

    Originally we just assigned 5 people to each spot, which might work in 90% of cases... but then RNG f's you over and you get 2 or 3 deaths and a resulting wipe. Since I don't like getting screwed by RNG, I wrote the WeakAura.
    Nobody is forcing you to use it, if you want to do the spreading willy-nilly, but there is a reason why most raid teams use a WA for this mechanic.

    My raid currently uses your MOTL aura for Archimonde and I noticed you updated it to v7 in your pastebin. Did you just add a bit more customization to it or did you change how the aura functions.
