The EU immigration thing has fuck all to do with people from outside the EU entering the EU.

It's about movement within the EU.

Just try employing a non-EU citizen. It's a complete fucking ballache. There's a mountain of paperwork and fees involved.
The internal freedom of movement was to create a unified labour market, so that people with desirable skills could move to where the jobs in their field were. To make it easier to conduct business in the modern world, where some people might need to visit dozens of different cities every year as part of their job.

It's all very well scoffing at this from the US, where people can train in something in Boston and then get a job in California, then in their job go to Houston and New York on a semi-regular basis. Europe contains considerably more borders than North America, and the places you may need to visit may be on the other side of those borders.

In Sweden, the anti-immigration party the Sweden Democrats has long demanded a referendum on the country's EU membership.

"The Sweden Democrats will now increase our pressure on the government, and we demand that Sweden immediately starts to renegotiate the (EU) deals we have made and that the Swedish people will be able to speak up about a future EU-membership in a referendum," party leader Jimme Akesson said by email.

They might be calling for one, but they don't have the political clout to get a referendum to happen, unless the rest of the establishment want out of the EU too, and currently they don't.

Id be very surprised if we see any referendum before (and if) other major nations leave. It'd trigger a major recession given our export and the politicians know it.

I've been reading that some of the Southern States of the USA are considering having a referendum to leave the US too to do their own thing?

If anything the rest of the US should have a referendum to kick out the Southern States, since they are basically infinite black holes of plebtier people and budget drains.

There's too many examples going on presently for it to be unfounded propaganda, coupled with the fact that we know the elite who decide this shit don't care about the ramifications because hey it's not their country or for the ones whose it is then they'll never have to live near or interact with these people since they have gated communities, protected offices and armed escorts everywhere so they bear none of the fallout and reap all the rewards while people like you go around backing them up and burying your head in the sand.
