Im thinking about rerolling from a Shaman to an Mage, but i had some questions about it.

How easy is it to play a Mage? (Compared to an Elemental Shaman)
Is being a Mage fun? (Cause atm, a Shaman is the complete opposite)
Would it be wise to even reroll, since i have no Ring, and my gear on my Shaman, is much, much better.
What is the easiest Mage spec?

I'd like to be a fire mage, i guess, but in the past they only got viable near the last Raid tier of the Xpac. (or atleast very gear heavy)

1. It's relative. Most classes are easy to play these days. With Mage you obviously have the variety of 3 viable pve specs that are good in different situations, so you might need to learn to play with different styles.

2. We can't really tell you the answer to this. Play one on the PTR if you are that interested. IMO though I find playing fire Mage fun at the moment.

3. Ring will be obsolete come the Legion raids. Unless you are still progressing this late in the expansion, why should it matter. Pre-patch period is essentially a beta period.

4. Probably frost.

Are you trying to imply that ele is hard? Because it's not.

1 - Easy to play as other classes, not so easy to master, exactly like other classes;
2 - I think Shamans are awsome. Expecially Elemental. They are both visually interesting and effective, when played right. That said, Mages have always been in my opinion the most cool themed class, aswell as the most interesting lorewise.
3 - Across expansions is always a good time to reroll, should one decide to do so;
4 - Frost

1 - Easy to play, hard to master.
2 - Majority of the time yes. Fun spells , viable specs, God of portals - Will save you a lot of time.
3 - I'd say gear won't matter too much, usually you replace it quickly.
4 - With the recent changes, Fire is very easy to do good dps even if you mess up. Frost in the middle ground, since you now have to take Flurry's debuff into account and not munch a FoF proc in the process. So you gotta pay attention a bit. Arcane is just above frost with the mana management and making the most of Touch of magi when it proc's once you get the artifact leveled up, as well as potentially utilizing Aegwynn's Ascendance with evocation by using shimmer and displacement once the explosion goes off.

Agree. And with Legion they fixed the issue with crit rating. So it is more viable than ever before, even with very low crit
I used to main firemage- rolled warrior somewhere during cata, but I still play. A lot of mage !
