Why the shit can you only choose one spec when doing class trial

So I really wanna try and play a brewmaster monk, still have my lvl 100 boost from Legion, decided what the hell, I'll see if I like it then boost it if I do. Tried making a monk, but to my surprise found that I can only do a trial for windwalker monk.

Like what the fuck? What's the fucking point of class trials if all you can do is dps spec? And I tried it out, it doesn't even explain anything too detailed. It just goes HIT THIS BUTTON WHEN IT'S NOT ON COOLDOWN. I felt like a complete and utter moron who was getting schooled by their kindergarten teacher. Who the hell did they make this for, people with brain damage? And why the fuck does it pick out talents for you without explaining why they picked them? Are these just objectively the best talents? Why am I using these abilities?

I guess I'll do it the old fashioned way and start from level 1. What a fucking waste of development time, they might as well remove this shit.

Just complete the trial as Windwalker then switch to Brewmaster.

    Boom, problem solved.

I actually agree with you for this one.

You actually can skip the trial entirely if you use your hearthstone.

Then you can change specs, transmog, use all your abilities, etc.

Also, I love that your solution to skipping a ~10 minute intro is to level an alt from 1 instead. So much misplaced rage.

its because they want to introduce people to some of the easier specs, and dont want to complicate it tooo much by giving people 36 options right out of the gate

Right and then I get 50 abilities all at once and I have no idea what the fuck to do.

it is a problem when going into new specs or havnt touched them for a long while. my advise is check icyveins/noxxic and look up the rotation. i checked icyveins when looking up deathknight unholy spec

True, but if you are wanting to try X but first have to do Y, it's a bit annoying. Hasn't happened to me, but if I only played melee dps (DK, DH rogue, warrior) and wanted to try healing, i'd be a bit annoyed to have to do another melee spec. That reminds me though, i still have my 100 boost out there.

It is a bit weird that they still haven't put in trials for more specs(warrior only has Arms, for example). Not that the trials are any good outside of teaching somebody entirely new to the game how to press buttons, but then again, that's all they're meant for. They're not intended to teach an "experienced" player how to play a spec.

Brewmaster is like windwalker except the rotation is a lot more fun and active the entire time instead of 5 secondes every 20 seconds with a 15 seconds masturbation pause in between every FoF, it's also not constipated by Chi and god awful energy regen forcing you to not do shit forever with beyond terrible auto attack dmg.

Yeah BrM is nothing like WW.

If you can't figure out what to do with 20-30 abilities maybe you shouldn't change classes. Or better yet, look up a guide.

As for the latter, making a lvl 1 then boosting costs you money..... it's free to make a trial character and mess around with it, you don't have to put a boost on it if you aren't going to be using it that long. Done it heaps of times to test all the different classes before deciding what to level.

Maybe WW isn't meant to be super spammy in its current iteration, but rather a slower planning-focused spec, and fwiw it has the same base energy regen as every other energy spec. I do agree that current BrM is more fun than current WW, but for other reasons.

Right now it's far beyond the "not super spammy" and 15 seconds is too long to just be considered a "planning-focused spec". FoF needs to have half the cooldown and half the dmg (so same dps in the end) but it would make everything more fun cuz it allows to actually do dmg while energy comes back up, and more whirling dragon punch (maybe nerf the dmg too if doing it twice as much is too much of a buff).
The 15 seconds of absolutely nothing fun between FoF cooldowns are excruciatingly boring. IMO this is one of the most flawed spec in the game, that rotation is laughable.

The trial is for people who haven't played before or haven't played in a long time. It's not going to be super detailed; just a general rundown of the basics. Blizzard doesn't want to tell people how to play in more detail than that, so don't expect anything like the guides that exist on fansites.

That said, it takes like two minutes to get through the how-to and be able to change specs, so it's really not an issue if you don't like the spec they start you with.
