    Ulduar and Paladins

look at all the gear it either has armor penetration which is worst for ret or expertise which is worst for prot, i can't say anything about holy pala since i've never played that spec.

but i'd imagine it is the plate having mp5 and not spell crit? i wonder who all these items are itemized for?

Yup, the Holy gear fails as well

    And not only the plate.

The new Holy vendor Libram is utterly useless, and TT is still the best weapon besides the Legendary.

Well. Gear for holy paladins in ulduar fails, but:

You can have full ilvl 226+ with like 5 prices of ilvl239 gear with crit/haste/SP. But a lot of them are mails and cloths.

But its possible. Its just hard, very hard to get(on cloth, lol i have to wait until 10 casters will get it etc..)

    Re: Ulduar and Paladins

Given that armor pen affects CS, DS, and auto swings, which is a significant part of Ret paladin rotations (and makes each point of str even more potent) I have a hard time seeing the problem with armor pen on plate dps gear for paladins. Also, Expertise has become slightly more useful for Prot paladins (Hammer of the Righteous, in my own testing since the patch, can now be dodged/parried), and expertise is both threat and some mitigation. As for the Holy paladin gear, with all of the movement involved in Ulduar fights, the mp5 that is on the gear there becomes much more attractive. I feel many paladins underestimate the benefits of mp5, which is a real shame.

I refuse to wear my Sick child Tier gear to tank in.

I won't look like a Tank, our Tier gear is so small and feeble I look like a healer even as a tank >_>.

Seriously they couldn't have even made our SHOULDERS look good. When I saw those flames I was like "Cool" and now they appear to just be glued there.

Blizzard are so [opinion], what [compliment/insult]s they all are!

There, now we can stop posting new topics in the Cataclysm forum altogether.

The gear blows hardcore for holy especially...as does the tier bonuses.
The tank one isn't much better.... and while the ret gear kinda sucks hard, at least the tier bonuses are good. Not to mention that we look HORRIBLY retarded. (WTB option to hide shoulders)

    That's why I rerolled druid. 8)
I'm hoping this doesn't turn into another SWP where a mass of Paladins disappeared
Maybe in another 5 or 6 months this will all change...hopefully

Now i'0m not saying that arp is complete rubbish but as can be seen from the linked report below physical damage only makes up 40% of my total damage

    http://wowwebstats.com/fvrstivgrqhsq...000000001c4a9c

This is taken from an Ignis the retard Master in ulduar and for the melee dps is pretty much a straight forward tank and spank (its much harder on the tanks and healers this one) so gives a really nice indication of 'ideal scenarios' for the ret pally

So in answer would you take a stat eg crit which effects almost all of my damage (93%) or arp which only affects 40%. Its really very simple to see why the fact that there are oh so many bits with apr on in this instance make it a total bugger for ret pallies.

Seriously? You care what you look like when you are tanking? I don't know why people worry so much about what their gear looks like. I don't even notice what my stuff looks like unless I am on the character select screen.

HotR has always been dodgeable/parryable, the parries simply were deflects unless they changed that with 3.1, ad arpen is pretty useless for rets as ~60% of their damage is unaffected.

Yeah man, most people care about looks. It's a huge part of the game. This isn't a pen and paper RPG. This is a 3D game and visuals, while not always the most important part are still a huge part in the enjoyment of a game. Now, I won't not wear something that is clearly better or makes me heal better due to looks, but I will definitely be complaining in the back of my mind lol.

Just like in real life, people like to look good! I wish there was more diversity to gear models in WoW. This whole Tier thing sucks. I think they are taking a good approach with the new "tunic" or "robe" choices for the caster tier pieces though. It's all about choices! We need more choices. Armor dye would be cool too.

Savory deviate delight is in the game for a reason guys..
Ok im new to hotkeying so im most likely doing something wrong.

I can hotkey alt to anything but the function keys. I can do alt+f1, f2, f3 but when i get to f4 it crashes my game EVERY TIME! Its annoying because I have to reset all my hotkeys cuz a game crash doesnt save them. Please fix soon!

Then instead of looking horrible you can look like half your raid.

    Re: Ulduar and Paladins

Looks vs stats: This is the main difference between someone who cares how well they perform and how well the look /dancing at the bank steps.

Most raiders don't give a frak about how they look unless they are standing at the bank, and then they have a seperate set for that.

This is not to say we want to go back to Tier 5 (Brittany Spears collection), but you'll notice that most of the raisers still wore the peices.

@Blizz Devs: Tier4 was real armor, T6 while a bit fancy was real armor. Please no more Pink frufru or "Super Mega Gundam" POS models. Study how real armor looks and fits together for heaven's sake.

Most of our damage is Holy damage, meaning that significant part of our DPS you were referring to, isn't as significant as the Holy part; which isn't affected by armorr. Therefore ArP is a weak stat for us. Crit and Haste would be better itemization for us. Expertise would be even better.

The fact you give mp5 much thought as a holy paladin and that fact that you think ArP is a good stat for us only proves you know little of our class. If anything ArP is a decent stat, not a good one.
