    Am i a bad druid?

Anyway to cut a long story short after getting bored of wow on other characters, i decided recently to level up my druid and play it as one of my alt's casually.

today i respecced feral for a quick run of naxx 10 man and was generally stuck around 2-2.5k dps on most bosses, now i dont have the best gear, but i have a little better than what fresh levelers will have before they start hitting heroics.
i tried keeping up my dots (rake and rip) and throwing out the odd Ferocious bite whenever rip, rake and savage roar were all up at the same time and i had some combo points spare. throwing clearcast procs into an extra shred.

I only managed about 2.5k on patch and wondered given my gear if i am massively underperforming in my role and if anyone can offer any tips.

You're in resto gear, could that be the problem?
No, seriously, I need to see your gear to evaluate. =)

    ^ what he said

on that note, What changes your shapeshift buttons?
The little burr face is awesome.

EDIT: Seems to be in feral gearz now. Imagine that.

You better stats from when I first went kitty to a raid, actually. Except for hit. Do you know if you were missing important abilities too often? Did you look at your average uptime on rake, mangle, rip, and SR?

I recently DL'd an addon just for that called emitpU from Curse. Does a really good job, but you have to reset it manually before each fight.

More editz: Okay, I'll look for it. :-)

Also, Icewalker on your boots is a better use of mats. Crit + Hit, which you are in dire need of sitting at only 67. Staff of Trickey is great and all, and I feel bad saying it, but for a while I ran with a TSD. Maybe you should look into it?

Maybe the 67 hit rating explains alot?

    Same for glyphs

How did you make your grid look like that?

On-topic, maybe you just need some practise, would be my guess.

Re: Am i a bad druid?

You don't need to mangle when you have a bear tank, let him do all of the mangle work and you sit back and spam shred instead (obviously keeping SR, rake + rip up).

I found an update on Wow Interface and already installed them. Looks cute, but doesn't quite match my UI. I'll have to fix that. xD

Re: Am i a bad druid?

Some things you need to get sorted,

    3 things

    1st gearing,

Your hit is low, hit is the most important stat for you because it is probably destabalizing your rotation a little.

Generally speaking for a DPS feral this stat order

    Agility > Strength > Crit > Haste > Hit/Expertise > Arp > AP

Once you become a little more geared that changes and ArP more becomes important.

Right now you need to Gem hit and find yourself a hit trinket, even a blue one for now, try the questchain for helping your old self on top of wyrmrest temple (hourglass of eternity) All that Agi that you have gemmed is partly going to waste because you cannot consistantly hit your target, aim for 26 expertise ~135 rating (assuming you have primal precision, though dont gem for it). Try and get soft hit cap (260), it's important, you push your yellow misses down to 1% and white misses right down aswell, given white melee will make up ideally about 25% of your total dps and it will stabalise your rotation alot .
I'm assuming thats a tanking Meta which could do with changing to 21 agi 3% crit damage.

    2nd
Timers for your melee DOTs because it looks like your Rip up time is a little low Rip should be on an even keel with shred and melee all going to plan

    3rd check out this guide.

Fairly good guide, wouldnt take some of it as cannon but it's a really strong starting point.

Are you a bad druid? : Yes...
Why ? No hit or expertise cap , you don't have any hit actually...

Define bad ; something which is not good or the oppotiste of good....

no hit / no expertise = bad , a druid with no hit / expertise = a bad druid

am I a bad druid ? No , why ? Hit cap'd for moonkin even though I'm resto MS.

Back to school with you thanks.

Re: Am i a bad druid?

Don't mess up Moonkin with Cat.

Moonkin without hitcap = bad druid
Cat without hitcap =/= bad druid

hitcap does one thing: it makes the rotation smoother.
but you NEVER EVER EVER EVER gem hit (or expertise) as a cat (or take the item just because it has hit) just because you want to reach the hit(expertise-)cap.

    never.

back to stickys with you, thanks.

oh, and fyi: if you have all BiS gear, you're pretty much near the hitcap. But this doesn't mean, it's BiS gear because you can reach the hitcap. it's just a nice side effect from the BiS gear.

Re: Am i a bad druid?

Hit cap is not important for ferals, Hit IS important for ferals however. It's been repeatedly said that you should have a minimum of ~200 hit to have steady combo point generation.

Gemming for hit = No No
Having 115 hit rating = No No
    Gearing for hit = Yes

Re: Am i a bad druid?

Gemming for hit = yes if you can't get Hit in another way at the moment.

There's no unbreakable rules about this, geez. If you need Hit, GEM IT. Use your head. Once you get enough from gear than just regem, it's that easy. As stated, you don't need to reach the cap, it only makes the rotation smoother.

And as for gemming Hit vs Expertise, there is no difference. Both will give you almost 0.5% more chance to land an attack, just depends what you happen to need more. Gemming for either is fine if you're really lacking. Just remember the cap for each and start gemming once you get halfway there or so. (I'd recommend a bit past halfway, varies)

This chart should help you with any problems you are having:

Re: Am i a bad druid?

You don't need to gem for hit. It's unnecessary.

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37166
    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44297
    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37409

These items + the legs you're wearing will give you a decent amount of hit. You should have no problem at all obtaining these items.

I'm starting to lean towards the possibility that you are a bad druid. Please stop wearing a SP trinket and don't use Titanium Earthguard Chain to DPS with.

You can replace your legs with these
You should replace your green ring with this
If you have a couple dollars, you can replace your blue ring with this one

Not really sure why you have 1 point into Protector of the Pack. If you want a cat spec, get a cat spec. Don't crowd it with tanking talents. You'd be more useful without Survival Instincts and Protector of the Pack and instead picking up 2/2 Improved Leader of the Pack. Aside from that, your spec is good. You're not capable of actually tanking something unless you have amazing gear so it's a compelte waste to get tanking talents.

Good luck with the skill part. Read the cat sticky and keep practicing on dummies.

    I'd say:
    Hit > Agility > Crit > Expertise > ArP

Get all the hit you can until you reach 265 hit rating. Then you want to get your crit up to 50% unbuffed. After that you can start looking around for ArPen gear. Strength shouldn't even be on the list. It's a rubbish stat for druids compared to others.
