Hey, as you read, im gonna make a lock, and i was wondering, is a lock hard to dps in raids with? i would love to have the specc with that "incinerate" or something.
And hows the leveling? what specc shall i use, and what gear shall i look out for?
Also, do you need a lot of mana-drinks? ( i kinda need to know that because i always pre-stock for alts )

Read my guide at the top, here are the answers to your other questions:
1) Hard to dps in Raids? Not if you spec Destruction, which includes Incinerate as you want to cast. What classes have you raided on? I could explain it to you better if I knew how I could relate. Demonology requires a lot of attention to your pet, like a Hunter, and Affliction requires a lot of attention to Timers, like a Shadow Priest, DK, or Rogue.

2) Pre-stocking your alt is not required. My guide lists out what you need to buy and how to keep yourself at full mana and health.

I have leveled 3 locks who were raiding toons over 2 accounts over the last 5 years.

Most will say Demo, but I do not like having to 'wait' around for a pet, or 'wait' to DPS until the pet gets aggro.

Affliction can be OK, but it is a DoT spec. Therefore, you will kill things slower overall unless you do large pulls and use fear bombs after you get them dotted up.

I have always leveled destro, and find it the fastest. It does go through mana faster, but you should also level first aid while doing it. Do not eat or drink - after a few fights you can LT and then bandage and keep running. Personally, I prefer a mob living for the shortest time possible.

The mana and health issues can be adverted if you buy the heirloom trinkets along with the other items.

If you mana bar is not full you should never be at full health. If you are at full health when you use deathcoil, for instance, then you just effectively wasted the healing component of which you will ahve to make up the mana for later. Instead you should life tap back some mana (assuming your mana isn't full) then initiate the fight and use the death coil in combat to regain some of that health (free couple ticks of a bandage). Little things like this add up and make it very fast.
