Haste clarification question

I been doing some research on haste and from what I can tell 814 or 25%~ will effectively make AB 1 second. What I am confused about is do you aim for 814 without hero/lust or any other haste procs or is it after those procs?

To give and idea of where I'm coming from here are the numbers I have been seeing.

1% = 32.79 haste
6% from talents
5% from totem of air
3% from swift ret or imp moonkin
20% icyveins
30% hero/lust

yes u deff want to get AB to atleast a 1 sec cast time with just gear and gems. then from there u just manage ur cd's that boost ur haste more. I usually dont pop IV when hero/bl is up because of how much haste i already have.

You can't get AB to 1 seconds without a big cooldown like Heroism/Bloodlust or Icy Veins.

Doing some quick math, it seems like the 814 number is to hit 1 second casts with 2pt10 (12%), Icy Veins and Heroism active (along with the standard passive buffs). I would not worry about being 'haste capped' at 814 haste. Heroism + IV is just ~20 seconds out of an encounter that probably lasts ~8 minutes. In fact, you probably won't even want to stagger haste cooldowns (i.e. no IV during Hero) until you start getting closer to 1000 haste, since IV+Hero+AP will still be better, even if you start clipping the GCD a bit.

If you're a troll, you'll need to account for Berserking, also. I don't know those numbers, since I play Alliance.

Trolls make it significantly worse I think. One of our mages just race changed (I refuse!) and he said he was hitting like .7s AB's during cooldowns if he popped them all. More reason for me to not roll troll, cuz I hate the ideaof staggering.

Ratings = additive
% = Multiplicative

Example:

800 Gear + 500 Potion of Speed = 39.646% Haste
Heroism/Bloodlust (30%)
1.3 *1.39646 = 81.54% Haste

PS: your calculation looks fine, my calculator says using those numbers the casttime is 0.998s :-)

I agree. Something about stacking all my cooldowns at once with hero just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

i seem to be hitting 1.3 second AB casts with "scale of fate's", IV, and my eng glove's haste enchant... with out hero or pot of speed... only at 787 gear/gem haste atm. ???


only time iv ever seen stuff messin with global cd was TOC spell stealing {Bloodlust} having hero, "scale of fate's", IV, eng haste glove's enchant and Pot of Speed... (^__^) i diddnt get to see numbers was too fast to realize what was going on...although i thought i saw over said 2k haste...had about 800 haste on gear/gems also :-\

I still have Embrace... with IV/BLoodlust and that procced i reach around 1.1 secs the haste potion puts me on 0.928 seconds i think i read... was quite fun firing off Arcane Missiles in tht like the ZA buff you could steal

Define recently? I went back for one week to clean up some unfinished ironbounds after we got anub. I had my FFB spec on me and ended at 26k recount dps.

Heh, I want to see how fast we can get AM to go with Hodir's 100% haste. A missile faster than every 0.5 seconds should be pretty entertaining. =D

I added Hodir + Vezax to my calculator. Btw. Hodirs haste is 50% I believe...

Hm... the Buff says 50%.

IIRC the buff is less effective than vezax' shadow crash.
