Hi,

Once you have 2 piece t10, will swipe do more tps than FFF?

I know normally FFF produces more threat and should be used in a standard tanking rotation, but i never saw the numbers for what margin of extra tps it had, and was wondering if with the 20% dmg buff from the set bonus if it will do more and FFF can be droped (except for the intial application).

If anyone who knows the math, threat modifiers etc to work it out could post it would be greatly appreciated.

Umm... Why would you drop the thing that creates the bleed buff which boosts maul damage (and therefore threat) by a healthy margin? Maybe I'm not understanding the values correctly but I'm not sure if it would be worth altering your rotation for this set bonus. Just take it and /lol you way through trash pulls.

Swipe is going to be more threat than the initial application of lacerate in any gear this expansion. There was a debate about swipe potentially totally replacing lacerate earlier, due to the amount of armor pen on ICC gear that benefits swipe and not lacerate. It's never going to happen, though, since the upkeep on a 5-stack is so small (both in rage and gcds) relative to the threat you receive plus the added benefit of SD procs from lacerate ticks.

lacerate 5 stack is before anything.. swipe will never be better than FFF with only a 20% increase dmg.. because FFF get more then 0.2 dmg out of every AP than swipe.. its not even close.

lacerate intial dmg is the lowest and should never be done.. but the keeping up lacerate dot should be highest priority.. my lacerate dot is critting for 2.5k atm, swipe and FFF is not even near the same dmg, and as i can remember, they all have about the same tpd (threat per damage)

They don't. Swipe is purely damage-based threat. FF and Lacerate initial application both have additional non-damage-based threat applied. On the flip side, swipe benefits from armor pen while the other two do not, and we're starting to get a significant amount of armor pen on gear. The bonus threat from ff/lacerate is just a flat bonus and doesn't scale with anything.

All that said, the priority order is spaced out enough that it's not likely to change any time soon. Maul > Mangle > FF > Swipe > lacerate initial. Lacerate 5-stack is worth keeping up, always.
