X new beta builds and still nothing?

Is anyone put a bit uneasy at the fact that there have been several beta builds since the original 31 point talent tree's came out and there are still no major changes to them like every other class? There are barely even any minor changes, and they all need to be changed badly, except maybe holy, but I thing holy needs some changes too. Disc is still idiot proof specing, Shadow is way to bloated, and Holy just doesn't sit right with me. In addition, it seems like were the only class whose new 81/83/85 lvl skills are not affected by any talents. I'm just really concerned about the state of priests so far. Every build is like "Renamed Empowered Renew to X" or "Moved PI from T3 to T4" and thats it. It wouldn't be so bad if they moved multiple talents, but they move like one at a time and they are done... I really don't think these tree's are as far along as all the other classes. Disc is almost 100% exactly the same as on live, besides the archangel gimmick, which I can't see being viable healing...

Does anyone else have this concern?

I wouldn't be too worried at the moment seeming it's still beta and all. We just need to be patient and see what they do.

Now if it gets to the point where it's 2/3 months from now and there's been very little change, I'd start showing concern then, but I think it's too early at the moment.

Concern? No. There are three, maybe four classes getting attention at the moment, and that's warriors and paladins, and to a lesser extent, mages and warlocks. We were not mentioned in the "most far along" class list, so we are very simply not yet being fully evaluated. Which is perfectly fine. They can't revamp everyone at once.

    Stop worrying!

Here's the post, from the front page:

I'd say that at this point in time, the trees that are farthest along are mage, rogue, shaman and warrior. Paladin would be close except that things have changed so much that we still have to move talents around quite a bit.

Hopefully that puts your mind at ease!

We haven't worked on the Shadow tree much after out initial pass (that brought Shadowy Apparition et al.). We're working on it now. Please don't expect a total overhaul where every talent is redesigned, but we are taking a hard look at all of the damage talents and trying to make the talent choices more compelling (which often means harder).

Now is the time to provide feedback. I've just used the feedback tool for any shadow talent.

Dump a point from Mind Melt for 3/3 Improved Inner Fire.

    Wrong thread?

    I'm very concerned about Shadow.

It seems like on the Beta, the shadow tree is pretty much unfinished, and recently Blizz said something along the lines of, "We're going to do a quick skim over it soon".

There are 10 classes. They cant work on all of them at the same time. Just stop complaining.

Except for the fact that in Wrath, we had to wait almost an entire year for our scaling and damage issues to be "fixed" because they didn't have to fore site to try and get it right before they went out of beta.

Remember when Dispersion didn't remove snare effects and was on a 3 minute cooldown?

    Yeah...

they still have several months before release if they plan on November again.

Still there are talents not including Heal, some % are ridiculous, healing spells are unbalanced, Chakra is unplayable and Improved Inner Fire is still there. It's obvious that priests aren't done, but Cataclysm will be launched when it's ready, so be patient. Paladins and Warriors need atention too, besides priests issues are reduced compared with other classes.

To go from being meh (but needed for Razuvious) in Naxx to become WTFOVERPOWEREDGODSOFSHADOWBLAHBLAHCAPS in Ulduar? I could live with being underwhelming in the first tier of raid content, only to become super buffed again and sit neatly throughout the rest of the expansion.

Rogues had to wait ages to get fixed as well, unless you were comfortable playing the boring HAT spec.

Hmm, I just hope they look into PvP talents for priests. They started out with removing a lot of those across the board, but look at what has happened to especially mages. An arcane mage could pick up these blatant PvP talents:

    4 sec silence on Counterspell
    10% damage bonus after interrupting
70% increased run speed after Blink
Instant Invisibility (the talent also reduces all damage taken)
    Stun on sheep-break
    Knockback when Mana Shield breaks
    Arcane Blast applies Slow
    Blazing Speed
    Shatter

Damn, how will you ever catch those guys? Also, I imagine that their PvE specs won't look anything like their PvP specs. I'd say that they get way too many of those talents right now, and it doesn't seem like the Cataclysm-approach at all. I just hope they'll remove some of that rather than making all specs look like arcane. I'd like to be able to have for example a full PvE disc spec plus a shadow spec that has all the necessary PvP stuff but that is still perfectly fine for PvE. After what the developers have said so far, I expect that I will be able to do that in Cataclysm. (Of course, the ability to seriously do PvP and PvE with the same spec also depends quite a lot on what the glyphs will look like.)

I hope we get a decent go over. I mean when you get right down to it, we ARE a ton easier to balance now. With dots critting, and us scaling much easier now, it seems that they really don't need to go very in depth with us. It all comes down to... getting the talent tree feeling right.

I mean the new haste with dots mechanic is already enough... it's the reason they nerfed VE... again. Now that every dot ticks, that's a TON of healing for us, so I can understand that.

Also, the whole Mind Blast / Shadow Orbs / Mind Spike mechanic seems to be our "Massive Damage" nuke that I think will be incredibly overpowered in PVP at least for the first few weeks.

The fact that a worgen Shadow Priest seems to be THE BEST pvp shadow priest out there atm, with Dispersion and Sprint, I think that things are looking good.

It all comes down to making those talent points "fit".

    P.S.

We also have one thing that OTHER dps casters don't have, a weapon that can cripple their offense, and something that allows us to be, dare I say it, even more powerful then Warlocks atm.

    Dispel Magic.
