Multi tasking on Ice Spheres and Raging Spirits

Can anyone suggest a macro to ease the multi tasking on Ice Spheres and Raging Spirits?

    I'm thinking of:

    #showtooltip
    /tar Ice Sphere
/castsequence reset=combat/dead Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot
    /tar Raging Spirit

    Multi-tasking shouldn't be necessary.

When ice spheres start spawning, check how many disease stacks are on the active shambling. If the answer is more than 5, you're in fine shape, the shambling will die of natural causes. You only need to worry about ice spheres. (If it's less than 5, misdirect more drudges in his direction during phase 1.)

If your shambling tank has TWO shamblings active at the transition, your raid strategy is flawed - your ranged dps should have started helping finish one off before the transition. Our ranged switch to the first shambling pretty soon after the second one spawns.

I actually meant Raging Spirits, it's 6am here...

I normally just put nameplates up and click back and forth, which difficulty/size are you talking about I found on everything but 25hm pets can solo them with the odd shot if there getting too close

Just forget about how you look on the meters, and stick to orbs. Hunters are utility on LK, the RL knows this. If mana isn't an issue, then RSpirits are fine, but for 10 mans at least, I make sure to pop viper, and drop the orbs myself. Keeps me from being thirsty, and is quite relaxing.

It's one of the only phases during the fight where I click from target to target-- hit your 'v' key to put nameplates up, and just go back and forth. Your dps will drop a little, I'm sure, but to be perfectly honest, as a hunter, you're there for your utility and fast ranged attacks, not extreme damage output. We're the class that suffers the biggest dps loss on that fight.

What Thereign said won't work on heroic. Either way, I would recommend a mouseover macro for the Ice Spheres. I'm guessing they die in an auto shot + arcane/aimed shot. I would make my macro this:

    #showtooltip Shoot
    /cast [target=mouseover]!Shoot
    /castrandom [target=mouseover]Arcane Shot, Aimed Shot

I don't play a hunter as a main, but if /startattack works for ranged for you, just replace the second line with "/startattack [target=mouseover]".

Edit: When AiS is on CD and you click it enough times, it will cast ArS instead and vice versa. Thus using the castrandom.

If you have to waste any dps time at all on shamblings, you're doing something wrong.

I kill the orbs in transition phases in heroic, with an arcane and a few steadies in viper.

If you are the person assigned to Ice Spheres you shouldn't have to worry too much about Raging Spirits. Best thing to do is to toss a Serpent Sting on a spirit along with a MD to the tank and get back on the Spheres. You can either use your pet on the Spheres or the spirits, I tend to put mine on passive and send it against a Spirit when I get the chance. The AoE from LK won't kill them really but they may need an occasional heal if u use them on the Spheres. It's nice beacuse it can start attacking the Sphere before it gets in range.

Also, use a long range spec for that particular fight as it will make everything easier. Don't know what Hard Modes you are doing but you should already have a long range spec if you are doing things like Heroic BPC or Heroic Professor. You just take 2 points out of Survival Instincts and put them in Hawkeye for an extra 4 yards of range. You'll be able to get the spheres down sooner giving you a chance to get a little extra DPS on the spirits. It also comes in handy when spreading out for Defile and kiting the vile spirits in P3. If you Set Focus on your tank, which you should do as a Hunter, you'll be able to switch back to the Raging Spirits easy by selecting the tanks Target of Target.
