What's your way of revenge with jerks and portals?

My "revenge" is to act like a reasonable human being. If I have the time and am able then I offer to give them a portal in exchange for the reagent or the cost of it. If I am unable or unwilling to help them I let them know and suggest they find another mage. If they are too demanding or unreasonable I tell them they should be nicer or more well mannered to people they want help from and put them on ignore.

If their name calling gets to you then they've gotten what they wanted. Just be the bigger guy and walk away knowing he won't be getting that portal acting like a jerk.

^^^ But if all else fails a portal to Stonard followed by adding them to my ignore list works well.

Never been name-called over making portals. I generally just ignore all requests for portals. I don't mean the /ignore function, I mean I just don't respond and/or act like I'm AFK.

Offtopic: Back in my old guild on the days when we had multiple mages in the raid, we'd all whisper each other near the end and set up portal roulette. This was way more fun than just watching one guy cast a bunch of portals. We'd all stack up on each other, make sure we were facing the same direction, and simultaneously cast different portals. Good times.

I think impersonating a GM can get you a ban (and honestly, it should).

Happen to me. I told my friend that i was GM and be broke paragraph 1337 of the EULA and i got myself a 4hour ban (I think). One and only time I've been banned.

If someone asks me for a portal in a nice polite way then i will just make the portal, and most of the time they want to tip me, i dont ask. If ifs a scumbag saying: make port dal naow! i ignore them most of the time or ask 15/20g. fuck 'em tbh

Since I am usually in Undercity, which means I often only Mage there i charge 20g for a Dala port. Pay up or walk, usually fixes it all.

I think mages should get Portal: random spot in the middle of badlands and a minor glyph that makes all portals appear as Portal: Dalaran to anyone but you.....mwhahahahahahaha

Back when there wasn't dungeon finder i never did portals, waste of mats. Also one time i haven't dpsed cause one guy said that 'your a fucking mage so do the food it's your role'. I simply made food and then said i won't dps, as im a fucking mage and i do food cause it's my role- he left.

If someone is demanding or rude, I just port them to Stonard. But otherwise I'm fairly leniant, even if someone spells not one word correctly or uses 6 abbreviations a sentence I'll still port them to their desired destination if they say some variation of 'Please'. Remember, especially on European realms there are people who know little English and don't have a server which supports their language.

Wait wait wait - what? You're saying that you make portals for groups now, in the day and age of the Dungeon Finder, but you didn't back when it wasn't around? That seems completely backwards. I think it's a waste now, seeing as you're teleported back to where you queued up when you finish the dungeon.
Aside from that, who even wants a portal after a dungeon? Everyone leaves immediately. Anyone who asks for a portal is just odd.

A couple of days ago I ended up having a really-late night conversation with a guild friend of mine. Meanwhile I jump around Orgrimmar on my red gigantic chicken as always. After a while a DK comes up to me, the conversation goes somewhat like follows:

[DK]: hi can u make port 2 dal pls pay 10g
[Me]: I will gladly make you a portal, but only if you're polite, use proper wording, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
[DK]: ???
[Me]: Just don't use abbreviations for every single word, start a sentence with a capital letter and a comma wouldn't hurt every now and then.
[DK]: sry dont know what u mean
[Me]: Uh, ok. I'll put it this way then. Say "Hello, sorry to bother you. Could you make me a portal to Dalaran for 10 gold, please?"

[Me]: Oh, give me a break already. Find another mage.

I thought I was polite to him, while teaching him how things work, and how you treat other people in a respectable way. That is what I get back. I suppose there are still people breaking the 12+ age requirement.

Umm sir... I would like to politely tell you, that you are in fact a giant ass. What is the point of having a conversation with someone using abbreviations in a GAME. I understand ignoring someone casue he/she didn't even say hello and please (i.e. "hey maeg, gief dala portal") but seriously... What are you? Japan?
I really am all for politeness and good manners... but don't be so anal about it. Happened many times on my alts when I had to ask for a portal really fast, and I happen to use abbreviations as well.
Tho most of the mages are douchebags who pretend to be afk NOT to help ppl...

Although sometimes people aren't happy paying 10g for a port. For noobies (if they have full white/green gear) I'll often send them for free. If they're alts (obvious BoA gear) they still have to pay the price.

I had one hunter ask for a port, tell me they couldn't pay (but were in full BoA's). They said their main was alliance, so I (rp'ed of course, not being mean never) called them "Ally Scum" and then they told me how sad and pathetic I was, a supposed no life loser.

How can they tell just from that? :P

I've fallen to the Stonard trick too many times without deserving it =/ (besides for my own stupidity I guess).

Would love to have this. I'd actually laugh if I took Portal: Dalaran and it landed me in the Badlands.
