Northrend in cataclysm

Ok... now im sure this has been talked about a million times but how come Northrend was not altered at all? i would guess that blizzard did not want to ruin what they had just created which i can't blame them for but it does not make a whole lot of sense how Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms were destroyed and Northrend is untouched... but maybe you guys have an explanation

All the Magic gathered by Malygos collapsed when we killed him, creating a barrier of Magical Energies to pulse out of Northrend, which luckily caused the tremors and Tsunami's to have no effect on Northrend.

True story.


Seriously though: There is no real reason, but I am sure that people can keep them self happy with making up their own reason.

I think I remember blizzard saying there would be minor changes, and then I also think I remember blizzard saying the timeline shifts back and forth... soo... I don't know which one I really heard or which one I hope I heard, but the latter is probably right.

The most I could see happening is a new dialogue option with Alexstrasza on top of her tower, if you've done Twilight Highlands. You start to try to warn her, but then Chromie scoots over and kicks you in the nads.

IIRC, the logic behind it was that Deathwing let Northrend be in order to gain strength and assault Kalimdor and T3Ks while all the heroes (players) were away dealing with Arthas.

If he did anything to Northrend, he may as well say, "hey guys, I'm coming back!" and risk getting attacked before getting to full strength.
