So I had this thought of PvP once Cataclysm comes around, and the different specs that would probably be used. From how the talents look now, and how they will probably look when Release comes around, it feels like Unholy has the better end of the deal, with undispellable diseases, AMZ, and a powerful pet as major advantages (though the pet can also be a disadvantage if killed). The two big specs I think it will come around to in regards of that, would be these two:

Spec number 1:
http://cata.wowhead.com/talent#jbG0b...kdbo:Vks0MV0Mm
A spec focused more on offense (or is it really, as strang can be used defensively too?) by going down in blood to grab Hand of Doom as well as Improved Blood Tap, letting you use Blood Tap and Strangulate twice as often and as a bonus gets Bladed Armor on the way down, increasing attackpower. The glyphs I chose are kind of no-brainers: increased dmg on your "main" strike, as well as your ghoul and deathcoil, longer duration on AMS (which we spent points to upgrade anyways), Strangulate glyph for the times where you use it to interrupt a big heal you can laugh at the healer knowing he's locked our for a loooooong time, and Chains of Ice, since I feel that even though its been nerfed in that its a flat 60% slow, using a single frost rune and leaving an empty blood rune would feel kinda meh if it didn't also do some dmg. Besides, there arn't really any better alternatives :P.

Spec number 2:
http://cata.wowhead.com/talent#jZG0R...kdbo:Vks0MV0Mm
A spec that goes down into frost instead, picking up the oh-so-beloved Lichborne, as well as On a Pale Horse (the new icon's a lot better than the old one btw, its actually a PALE7white horse now) for some fear/charm/sleep immunity/breaking as well as some snare reduction and mount speed (never say no to pand-- err I mean mount speed!). The strenghts of this spec is probably its ability to self heal more with Lichborne coupled with Death Coils + Death's Embrace, letting you fire them off for a LONG time if you have sufficient runic power. And in a world where healing is more sparse, it could literally end up being a game/match-changing ability. As a melee having a few talents with snare reduction is of course, never a bad thing and I can see this spec working great against mages, locks and hunters, all three of them either having lots of slows (frostblot/slow, curse of exhaustion/aftermath and traps) or in the warlocks case, a CC that can be broken by Lichborne.

All in all I think its going to be fun to see if the two specs can stand up to each other in PvP, perhaps finally shifting away from a single "cookie-cutter" PvP-spec, and letting people choose which of the two specs fit their playstyle the most.

And before you say that I still haven't mentioned Frost yet, I just want to mention that I don't think that Frost currently has enough talents that are good for PvP to be competitive with Unholy, which is why I didn't mention it before. The only real advantages Frost has, is that it doesn't have to rely on pets for damage and burst, the small CC provided by Hungering Cold, as well as one extra CC breaker if you glyph for it. either way here are a DW as well as a 2H spec that I think could work fine:

Spec number 3:
http://cata.wowhead.com/talent#jZMIR...zbhb:maM0qozMm
The DW variant, and I really think that the Pillar of Frost glyph has its uses, in the way that instead of becoming a burst ability, it becomes a CC-breaker, giving frost one more than unholy, making it stronger against certain comps *cough* RMP *cough*. Hungering cold, as I mentioned has its uses of course, especially as a sort of "I made your whole team trinket"-button and its value increases the more opponents there are (think rated BG's!) and could potentially make or break the game the same way Lichborne and Death's Embrace could.

Spec number 4:
http://cata.wowhead.com/talent#jZGcR...ubhb:maM0qozMm
The 2H variant. Not really any changes here, except for swapping around 6 points into different abilities. Due to 2H frosts high reliability on normal white-swings to proc Killing Machine as well as Might of the Frozen Wastes, I believe that DW frost and Unholy will be better off in PvP. Other then that its exactly the same.
