Remove Time Restrictions

I suggest removing time restrictions from the Report and Search features as they are very inconvenient.

There are several instances where these restrictions cause me to just say screw it. I would like to be able to report multiple cases of douche-baggery quickly.

And search for something again quickly if the first result did not deliver accurate results..

Though i have a feeling the time restrictions are more integral to the system than to just reduce searches, i would like this aswell. Everytime i come to this site i have to search three things before i can make a move.

I think the fact that the search feature is up was probably a compromise since it was down for so long. I'd find it hard to believe that Curse servers wouldn't be able to handle a higher load though.

I haven't had an issue with a timer on the report function(see a retarded thread, pick out the worst post and report it, they'll see what's going on, dont need to report the same thread more than once,) but I agree the search delay can be quite annoying.

For threads in general, that works. For reporting the massive amount of trolls? Not so much. They often seem to be missed unless they get their own lil ticket. lol

Meh once I'm out of a thread like that I don't bother tracking the individual idiots that made it report-worthy. I have little enough faith in humanity as it is, going even further out of my way to kill off what's left doesn't seem wise :\

Im on the opposite end of the spectrum. I try to pin-point the exact moment the thread became report-worthy and report that post.

Well that's generally what I mean with reporting the most retarded post in a thread, I uh think you may have quoted the wrong post I made.

Anyway, getting a liiiiittle off topic. I know the report timer is there to help prevent spam reporting that drives the admins nuts, but is the search timer just a load issue?

I would have to agree. Being able to search more often would be wonderful, seeing as you can get banned for virtually EVERYTHING you do, being able to make use of things we're allowed to use would make life easier.

Not going to happen. There is too much abuse potential to being able to post/report/etc with no cooldown.

This. We'll look at context of the post, especially if you make a note about it. No need to flood reports.

I don't the mods want to wade through even more reports, I alone probably fill their alerts boxes up. lol

Well, according to mods, you only need to report ONE guy in a problematic thread and say there are multiple offenders in it (if there are) - Or do you seriously read and report multiple threads within the time restriction?

Would leave the site open to a DoS attack via a search script. Maybe we can convince them to lower the cooldown a little bit, though. Maaaybe...

I agree, the one minute searching cooldown makes me want to eat glass. I really don't understand why it exists, or at least why it has to be so long. Why not 10 seconds?

I try a search, get no results, then want to modify my keywords a bit to get a better result but I'm blocked for 60 seconds. Grrrr!

I also hate the "type in the funny looking words so we know you're not a robot" thing too... but the 60 second cooldown is far worse.
