Mining and herbing as a lvl 80?

Hey i was wondering if i have to get my farming alt to level 85 or if you can enter all zones and fly around in them farming what you need?
Why i wonder this relative stupid question imo is because i got 2 mains(1pvp1pve) witch both got professions that require ores, bars and herbs. Therefor i was thinking on keeping my rogue at 80(to save time leveling) and only use him for farming mats to my mains.

Also were will the "best" places be to mine and herb? Both "low" level herbs/ore (430+) and the high level ones.
Don´t think i have to say that i am one of the unlucky ones that didn't get a beta key.^^

    All help is good help!

Yes you can. However you won't be able to enter Deepholm, which is filled with ores and herbs. You can level your mining to 475 then head to Twilight Highlands. There you will be able to mine Elementium without pulling aggro.

Is TwiHi also full of herbs to get to 525 with?

Was just wondering if you are going to update your website with 450-525 pre or post Cataclysm.
Actually Mr. Lennon, I can imagine a world with no war, hate, religion, or violence. I can also imagine attacking such a world, because they would never see it coming

Most likely, there is a lot of places where mobs are neutral or there aren't any. I did not try to level herbalism there yet, but I'm on it.

    Instinctz:

Yes, of course! I'm doing them right now! I'm not sure if I can get them done before the beta shuts down, but then I will do them live as soon as I can.

I leveled my herbalism up pretty quickly once I was able to get into deepholm. Then, at level 82, I made the mistake of flying into Twilight Highlands from Arathi Highlands and trying to herb there. It was pretty touch and go because unless I went in and out very quickly I was drawing aggro from NPCs that my toon was really too low level to deal with. In Cata an 82 boomkin doesn't stand much of a change against an 85 of any race, sorry.

One of the best herbing zones was Deepholm. Tons of the same herb (forget the name, something with 'heart' in it I think) scattered everywhere. I'm fairly sure I maxed herbs just from Deepholm--after that I just needed higher level herbs for alchemy.

    Just a side note on mining/herbing :

In live right now (so I'm sure it will be that way in Cata) you get actual xp when you mine or gather. Last time I checked at 79 I was getting over 2500 xp per herb. If you stay rested thats over 5k exp. The average quest gave 25k exp. So... five herbs / mines is the same or better than one quest (if you are rested). It would actually be a viable way to level, though you wouldn't get any gear, especially if that is all you do on that character. Park him in the closest inn always, go out and gather for an hour and then park him. Say in one hour you could get 15 ore and 30 herbs (just guessing) that would be 225,000 exp, and the same as 9 - 10 quests. If you can do more, you get more. It also increases with your level. When I was 72 I was getting (rested) somewhere a little over 4k. It ALSO gives it to your party, so if you happen to have a friend who is doing the same thing? That's a lot of exp. I don't know if they will nerf it (as it is rather op right now) but it's just a thought.
    Shoespoon!
