    Death of Dual Wielding?

Looking at the new released wpns for Cata, I must say. I miss dual wielding. The lack of a 1H Agility enchant puts them far below a 2H w/130. I haven't dual wielded since playing my buddys hunter using Warblade of the Hakkari and Fang of the Faceless. Anyone else going to lament the loss?

What is to lament? Other than PvP (where using two one-handers for preventing certain disarms is needed), 2 handers have always been superior stat-wise, and although this is biased, as far as looks they seem to get the cooler skins. Rogues/warriors don't get priority on ranged weapons, so we shouldn't steal their 1 handers (DKs included)

Dual wielding is awesome. 2x 1h fury warrior was always the most fun.

This is a thread about hunter dual wield. DW fury is still ment to be viable.

Also, hunters are now designed to share weapons with ferals using polearms and staves or else ferals will be 1 spec looking for 1 weapon only they want.

I do miss dual wield being viable but it doesnt bother me that its actually under my skin.

@danielakatoxic I love the sig. Is that the one where silva knocks griffan out with a paw while backing up?

OT: show me two one handers that look cooler then Black Ice.

a warrior who uses 1h's is fail anyways. the only real dual weilders are rogues, enhansement shammys, and frost dk's. If you want to lament something, how about why shammys can't use swords? The pointy end goes into the bad guy! how is this a difficult concept to understand???

While I know this is a hunter's forum, wanted to comment on this. Single Minded Fury actually puts it up there on par with Fury 2 hander warriors. Even if their damage is slightly falling behind they can easily adjust that talent to bring it back in line. It's more of a style choice.

As for OP's question. 2 Hander's will always be better, but if you really wanted there will always be viable 1 hander options. Only reason DW became more prominent towards end of LK was due to you could get more ArP and gem slots out of it half the time.

And Dual Wield Fury will probably remain viable(all the FURY talents support it, nothing in Fury even suggests the use of a single weapon over the use of two).

I personally prefer the use of 2 handed weapons, they just look amazing most of the time. I do wish there were more comparable one handers for us to use though, I do like the look of my Orc Hunter with her Frost Giant's Cleaver and Bone Warden's Splitter sitting across her back.

I like the look of dual-wield better myself. I am using a 2h staff at the moment though. Maybe there will be some decent one handers like in ICC.

I like how it takes all of 2 minutes for me to get a warning about flaming someone, but no system exists to make people stop posting about warrior crap on the hunter forum. Yay for terrible inefficiency. Don't flame that guy! But yall go ahead and skank up hunter forums with your drivvel.

There's almost always a way (spec-wise) to make your weapon selection/preference work out well.
It just may not be the most effective way for the class in game.

I.E. My buddy saw a way to spec as a holy dps priest and actually rocked it on the beta.

A pet peeve of mine has always been that Raptor Strike isn't a "hit with both weapons" attack. Like Stormstrike.

I mean... okay, it's not like it matters. But it so should! Raptors even have two claws.

And for the guy getting flamed posting on a hunter forum...keep in mind that if this thread has the latest post, it'll be on the frontpage for threads with the most recent posts...

well its enh shammys your talking about they were not smart enough to click the elemental talent tree at first so why would you expect them to do any better now?

i still use 1h at the beginning of content they are really good to spread out your stats when your trying to squeeze out certain stats b4 ilvls get so inflated you can sue whatever, but over all i feel polearms should be hunter only and staffs W/E give em to ferals i have seen one i liked in ages and the silly fast attack speed is junk.

on a loot/class note are there still guilds who don't use epgp or dkp? i thought loot council died with progression raiding in BC.

To this pvp thing... do the 3th grade math ^^ add pure numbers and you gain this:

even with potency and a weaponchain 2 1h lack 13 AP behind a 2h with weaponchain.

Here a gemmed and chanted wowhead comparison (both weaponchain - weaponchain/sup.potency and both agi gemmed):

    Wowhead comparison

2 one handers lack in ap, stam and crit... partly quite drastic. But gain a white dps plus... (yeah. thats what we need in pvp. trolololo)
plus 2handers have 2 gem slots one red and one blue compared to 2 blue.

So since I did competetive PvP 2handers were always supirior than onehanders.

    And on topic:
Yeah 2 one handers might not be as powerful as a 2hander but there is always the possibility that you gain two one handers of a higher tier than a 2hander
Captain Endriel and his fearsome crew!
