So yeah, my partner keeps on saying that she remembers there was elite mobs/portal of some kind/raid in thousand needles, I do now know which version of vanilla however....


So do you guys know of anything along those lines....... way way back in da day


Also on topic:

She seems to swear there was a simple green item that has +fishing on and at the time she just sold it/vended it/anything,

I know the list of possible fishing items and i cannot seem to find any trace of said item... or even close to that matter

There was the AQ opening event, had several portals opening up with elites that needed groups to be taken down.

do u mean the dragons of nightmare? They were outdoor raid bosses which spawned next to emerald dream portals, but they weren't in the 1k needles.

There were gloves that had +fishing on them from some quest, can't remember which though. as for the "elite mobs/portal of some kind/raid in thousand needles" I'm not sure, there were a lot of elite mobs all over the world, I'm sure there were one or two in the place in question. need more of a explanation on the portal part of the question. And about the raid in thousand needles, pretty sure there was not, but don't quote me on that, been forever since vanilla and i spent little to no time at all in thousand needles.

the AQ event spawned some elite mobs from portals that needed a raid right? Might have been in 1k needles as well. I do remember the huge elites on the shimmering flats

I agree with the AQ event, there were also BC events that could have caused some turmoil in 1kN. As for the fishing item:

Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000
Dwarven Fishing Pole
Or there are i believe random green glvoes that have fishing on them (and I dont mean the enchant)

There's a rather large number of items that give you +fishing, and they range from greens to epics to enchants.

There was also never a raid in Thousand Needles, though the AQ Gate opening event, as others have said, did spill over into it. But then, the AQ event spilled over into pretty much every single zone.

OK ive spoken to her with what you guys have said:-

Fishing:

She had no idea, she says i "could" of been from a quest, then she says it "rings a bell" so i have no idea

Thousand Needles:

She says it was a portal with x2 elites next to it, she says that they ganked her as she walked past on her way to tanaris... since that day she always checks the same spot where she died (as she remembers it but not completely). Ive also asked her what the mobs look like, however she cannot remember, she says she that she can see them in her head, but cannot describe them... (wow lots of she's)

Is there any website that could give me a full run-down on the AQ opening event?

I played before AQ came out and when it came out. I cant remember any portals in 1k though. Maybe you can tell us where exactly? In some parts there are insects and silith... or were ^^

This vid reminds me of the purplelotusjob :P, i got the job to collect 1000 purple lotusses from my guild, ofcourse i did i wanted to help my guild. But it was a pain Now i realize kinda how big of a pain it would've been for others haha.

WAIT: Maybe the flightmaster/ally city from North-west Thousand needles? they were elite as far as i remember, i kept getting owned by them while doing a robot quest. but that's not old old old world.
