Magmaw?

Well our group spent a good amount of time wiping on Magmaw. We were doing well on the mechanics but as we continued into our attempts we started to get Pillar of Flame during the spike phase and the pillar timer just seemed to get very random. Is this part of the fight because our first few attempts pillars happened outside the spike phase. Not during. Any advice will help. Thank you in advance.

As far as i noticed it was first intended but been changed so it only happens rarely but if you get a pillar of flame during the spike phase just continue like you would if it wasn't spike phase aoe them down and then nuke the boss.

Pillar during Spike phase usually means that the people who are meant to throw the chains were off by a few seconds which is enough delay for boss to cast the Pillar. Atleast that is the feeling I am getting from it.

It will happen, the timers are 100% set on stone, just like defile+valk on LK.
If the 2 spikers miss it out, you will lose a good 5-10 seconds to re-spike him and might cause another pillar to spawn.

Just be a bit faster on the chains, and there is no problems
