Sorry to be so harsh, but since its running in cinema's now i wanted to warn you up front: I'ts HORRIBLE.
The story is an insult to human intelligence. Do not pay for it in any way. Im serious.

Because you didn't like it, means everyone else won't! Amazing!

I don't like it so you shouldn't see because my opinion matter more then anyone else's.
I've only heard good things.
What other films have you seen that you loved / hated.
Just so I can get an idea if we have similar taste
Ok, and your opinion is valid because you managed to post valid reasons why Cabin is, as you put it, "an insult to human intelligence"... No, wait you didn't.
Next time try being intelligent about the reasoning for disliking something. Also, try using the search feature before making a thread dealing with a topic that already has several pages of discussion.
lol ATM, well i guess Phone Booth,Devil, its all starting to make sense when hollywood start using single locations for a film you know its getting bad
Hollywood realized theere just failing at movies now and theres no more new ideas...
It's a movie that really mind fucks you. Would not pay to see it again though. I lost IQ points.
I thought it was a good movie for its story. It wasnt what I thought it was going to be but beyond that it was pretty good. Thats my opinion. Also dont get http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geffQdBbKzI confused with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-JXLx-ygvM
myeh I thought it was great, but then I'm a big Joss Whedon fan. If you went excepting another crappy Saw/Hostel type film you'll be disappointed, if you want to kill some time and have a few laughs, then Cabin in the Woods is a great movie to do so with.

It is the best reviewed horror movie in a long time, and it has a 90% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
That is because it is a great movie for exactly what it is, a meta genre skewering movie. The only people I know that didn't like it went in expecting it to be a straight up horror movie or Saw-esque torture porn because of the marketing. People, like me, who knew the movie was something more than another schlocky horror movie have generally loved it.
It has the 10th highest fresh rating of the year. That is way higher than I expected.

vague hate without context is not a helpful review
Wow so much hate.
Ok ill care to explain, i didn't wanna spoil things for yah.
SPOILER:
What? The plot is about 5 kids entering some militairy like area. They choose (unknowingly) ofcourse wether they are gonna be killed by either: Zombies, wherewolves, geneticly manipulated bats, birds, Mermaids, ghosts, demons and whatnot. (The people controlling the area set them lose, when dormant they are stashed in a storage)
How? By reading a sentence, playing with a ball and some other stuff.
Why? To please inexistend underground gods that will destroy the world if they dont.
Now you are probably thinking: Zombies, werewolfs, mermaids, geneticly manipulated whatnots, evil clowns, AWESOME!
No.. it makes absolutely no sense at all.
PS: SFX are shit. They seem to have run out of cash at 50% of the movie.
So hate me if u want, theres absolutely no way you are gonna like this movie unless your slightly retarded.
And even if u did like it, you will feel screwed that you got charged 15 dollars to see it.
