Yesterday, while in Lion's Arch map chat, a gold-seller was already spamming, trying to sell leveling services. I never go to their sites, or any other "malicious" sites, and my computer is pretty secure. However, it still makes me a tad nervous. I wonder if ANet will be releasing an authenticator of some sort? That would really put my mind at ease. I don't use the same password for everything, I have 4 passwords I cycle through, but like I said, it still makes me nervous. I've never been hacked, and I don't want to be. If they don't release an authenticator or other security measure, what else can I do to prevent being hacked? Like I said, I use different passwords for this site and GW2, along with other sites I use, I run all my security software once a week, and I don't visit "shady" sites.
Use different password for email and game. Use an anti virus and remember your secret password.
Only way to lose the account that way is if you somehow get a key logger and even then you have the secret pass which you can use to recover the account.
(I don't know if Anet has secret passwords as I haven't bought the game yet)

No need for an authenticator, if you don't use the services of said leveling sites you will be o.k. In WOW in my guild a few members over time used these gold farmers to basically cheat in the game, then they where all boo hoo when there accounts got hacked.
My launcher has saved my password so as long as that stays on there I'll never have to type in the password. I don't expect a keylogger but if it happened I would hope I'd catch it before they caught me typing in the password.
