    Sweeping strikes and ww.

Does sweeping strikes synergize with whirlwind at all?If yes in what manner?

It strikes one additional time for 50% weapon damage, not whirlwind damage. Bladestorm functions the same way. Still free damage, but not overly strong.

No it doesn't. It deals 50% of the damage from the hit that triggered it, which is a huge difference from 50% weapon damage. Yes, it works with Whirlwind, but no, it won't chain off of every target hit, it will only proc once per ability cast for one additional strike, regardless of how many targets Bladestorm or Whirlwind hits.

I could have sworn there was a blue post confirming that, unless they were wrong. Only in relation to AoE abilities like WW/BS not all abilities.

Nope, it works like Artunias said. For BS and WW, it's a single 50% WD hit that isn't dependent on the damage you actually did with any of your WW or BS hits. It's this spell ID: http://www.wowhead.com/spell=26654/sweeping-strikes and shows up as a different damage source on logs.

Yeah, he's right. For Whirlwind and Bladestorm it uses a unique version. For direct damage attacks, it continues to use the base effect of Sweeping Strikes based on the triggering attack.
