    Blood DK DPS help

Hi, I'm a lvl 80 blood dk dps on horde my armory is http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...fang&cn=Vathos.

I was wondering if someone could look at my gear and suggest any improvements.

    My rotation is roughly PS > IT > HS > HS > DS > DC > DS > DC > HS > HS > HS > HS

Ingame my gearscore is 5183, in raids I only knock out about 4.7k DPS at most, I use hysteria + Dancing Rune Weapon, ghoul, horn of winter and Mark of Supremacy during battles.
One of my mates told me that the frost emblem cape http://www.wowwiki.com/Recovered_Scarlet_Onslaught_Cape is better for blood DPSing, but I don't know if that is right. Might of the Ocean Serpent has strength on it.
In recount I'm always in the top 10 for damage done in 25man raids but my DPS is low. I've checked with be.imba.hu and I have the correct gems and enchants in my gear.

Also I have a Frostforged Helm http://www.wowhead.com/?item=49466, with the same enchants and gems as my Faceplate of Trembling Rage but which one is better to have equipped?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Your hit rating is pretty much overcapped since you only need 260 hit rating. Try to aim for 26 expertise. Get 4 pc T9 asap and go Unholy. Unholy really shines with the 4-piece bonus.

You have to much hit, but your expertise is to low. I'd advice you to replace your Mark of Supremacy with Victor's Call. It's a crap trinket, but atleast you will get closer to being expertise capped and you will still remain hit capped. In any case, you need to increase your expertise and lower your hit rating. You need about 280 hit rating (don't know the exact amount) and 26 expertise as melee DPS, as this will prevent the boss from dodging your attacks entirely.

Also, try to get the 4t9 setbonus; it's really helpful.
    Statix will suffice.

You should aim to lower down to 230-235 or 263-265 hit for either raiding hit cap w/ squid or hit cap w/o. getting to expertise cap is a MUST, as blood GCD caps like crazy. After that spam arp gear, make sure hysteria + trinkets + procs are up before you drw to gain the most benefit and use your ghoul at the same time to maximize the ghouls dmg.

Swapping out your current helm for the t9 helm would be a very good start, as would dropping Mark of Supremacy, as Statix suggested. Being that far over the hit cap can harm your DPS greatly.

Always go with Str. Over Agi. on the cape, by the way.

Memm: He is a belf, he should be at 264 for the hit since he can't have a draenei.

-You're WAY over hit, 8% or 263 is where your hit should be (get darkmoon card: greatness, kickass trinket. dropping MoS for greatness will help your hit issue a great deal)

-You don't have enough expertise (around 26)

-get T9 four piece, unless you're rocking the T10 two-piece, there is no excuse for not getting the four piece. Keep the helmet you have on now (you have too much hit already) get the T9 shoulder for the four piece.

    -you need more armor pen

-who ever told you to get that agility cape is a fucking MORON and should freaking quit the fucking game for being a bad! Agility is the WORST stat for a death knight. Your instincts were right to get Might of the Ocean Serpent. In addition to strength, it has expertise and armor pen both extremely important stats for blood.

-replace the boot enchant for the 32+ attack power one.

-Finally, don't take this the wrong way, but uninstall Gear Score! a stupid number made by some addon is NOT going to tell you how much DPS you do or what DPS you should be doing. I personally should slap you for mentioning it in your original post. That is the last thing you should be concerned about.

If you have the gold, drop mining for Jewelcrafting. It would be much easier for you, since you could pre-farm up all the ore needed to prospect/etc., then drop it, then level it. You'll see some great returns from Jewelcrafting.

Curious, could you give me some insight on how Engineering plays out for you? I've always been curious how it performs.
