    Best Gaming Headsets...

I've never had a headset before and don't know where to start. Thought I'd ask here and get some opinions. Nothing over $150, and if its wireless its certainly a plus.

I don't own one personally but you may want to check out a G930. I have a friend who has one and likes it. Wireless and under $150... for now.

That's quite a low budget. You're unlikely to find something good enough to be called "best" in those ranges.

At one point nearly half my old guild uses a G35. I own a G35, and after about a year of me being rough with it and treating it like shit, one of the ear speakers fell off the headband. I went to a store, paid with cash, had no receipt, and no serial code on my headset, but after calling Logitech support they offered to replace it free of charge to me with a brand new one.

I highly recommend the G35 and Logitech service in general. Otherwise I'd go with the Steelseries Siberia v2, which is also an outstanding headset. Avoid anything Razer like the plague, they make some shoddy, shaky products.

I, for one, don't particularly care for any Razer products (just like OCZ), but people seem to like them and thus I included them on the list for the OP to look over.

The only two out of that list I can honestly recommend are the Logitech as well as (surprisingly) the Arctic Cooling AC-P531.

I actually bought a really comfortable headset last week. Its a Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000. I only spent about $32 on it and it plugs into a USB port so I don't yank it out like I tend to with regular head phone jacks. Not wireless but it has a 6ft cable. I think they make a wireless counterpart to it though likely more expensive.

OP, do you insist on it being a headset?

    Sennheiser PC350 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106219

Very slightly over your budget but honestly it's worth it.

Otherwise you're pretty much stuck to Logitech/Razer/Steelseries etc etc, and although I risk sounding like another one of those elite audiophiles by saying this, they're all bad in one way or another.

Honestly at that price he might aswell get headphones from a respectible audio company which has a demographic far from razer/steelseries' 12-17y.
They're companies that make gaming peripherals, mainly mice and keyboards. Get audio gear from audio companies that have been in the business for a long time, not a fancy branded toy that breaks usually in a period of 2 to 3 years, sometimes as low as 6 months..

Also : nothing wrong with audiophiles, they're just given a bad name due to the wacks buying Audio Quest cables and 400$ Tubes for a placebo.

Suggesting that Sennheiser isn't a respectable audio company?

    Ain't that the truth.

ANYWAY. As said before, its a bit tricky to get great audio quality in a wireless chassis for that price.

I have the same headset myself, it works for what i need it for. I just can't justify paying $100+ for something I put on my ears.

Its awesome. but the new Razer Headset tiamat 7.1, Im already holding about 250 bucks just incase thats the cost for it. It looks EPIIIIC!

Get the G930. It sounds great, battery life is outstanding, and it's comfortable. I can't imagine something else being worth more money
