Would have loved a KOTOR III. Wished they didn't make SWTOR and made KOTOR III instead. Battlefront would be great if made by the same people (which it probably won't be). So, pretty much looking forward to SWTOR expansions. I hope they can keep class stories going on for a while.

The first two Battlefront games are arguably some of the most fun games that have ever been created. Hoping the 3rd one is not a disappointment.

SWTOR is made by Bioware, under license from Lucas. Same with Kotor. With Bioware its definitely them finishing up Mass Effect 3, then working on a Mass Effect MMO. They should develop their own IP.

I honestly hope they don't make a Mass Effect MMO because it would essentially by SWTOR reskinned unless they make it a sandbox MMO or strip away a lot of the RPG elements.

Star Wars / Mass Effect wouldn't be very similar so I disagree there. no lightsabers, no force, different species, etc. no sith vs jedi.

What you said is true but removing those basically boils down to re-skinning the game. If SWTOR had a mod kit, a Mass Effect total conversion mod would be out in a couple of months tops. Reskin lightsabers as melee weapons. Reskin the species. Deleted Sith vs Jedi for any faction war in Mass Effect. Force powers are even easier, just say their are biotics. The fundamental systems are already in place. I really can't see how you can argue SWTOR isn't Mass Effect with Star Wars and a MMO slapped onto it.

It started whit KOTOR 3 and then turned out to be SWToR.
But heck I play allmost any game from BW!

I would LOVE to see a Battlefront III, but it's a dead project since Pandemic went bankrupt. It's been in the air with no official word since 2009.

I don't think there's room for KotOR3 with TOR out. There's not enough intrigue about the 300 years between the wars to make a game about it. It might be cool if they make a game about the beginning of the war with Satele and Malgus and all of them, but it wouldn't really feel like a KotOR game, it would feel like something else.

That defaults me to TOR expansions. I suppose in a game company that only has two studios and is managing an MMO, it would be best if one of those studios is working on the MMO full-time. Content flow and quality determines the success of an MMO so might as well get to work immediately on patches and expansions, trying to work in all the cool things people want like Guild Ships and space combat PvP and personalizeable class ships.

Just so people know Bioware confirmed there will be no Kotor 3, and im glad, i hated both those games, teh combat was stiff there was nothing other than the lightsaber to make u feel like a jedi, the combat was nothing like the jedi

that means Stargate, and Star Trek, and BattleStar Galatica are all Star Wars Re-skins aswell? as it seems the only common denominator you have gone for is "Sci-fi"

Mass Effect is nothing like Star Wars. There's not really any fantasy elements whatsoever, which is what makes Star Wars what it is.

The framework of SWTOR is very similar to Mass Effects framework. I am not comparing the universes of the two games. Its like saying Battlefront is a reskinned Battlefield, because it is. Battlefront and Battlefield are obviously set in two different universes but the actually gameplay involving the two games is very similar.

If they made a Star Trek game that resembled a reskinned Mass Effect then I would call it out on being a reskin. People really need to stop being so damn critical or criticism that isn't even bad or directed towards them. Calling SWTOR a reskin of Mass Effect + MMORPG isn't bad since both games are made by the same developer and Mass Effect is highly success but if you don't see obvious elements SWTOR inherited from Mass Effect then you either never played the game or you're just completely obvlivious to the fact. I'm not just talking about the dialouge trees neither, the way environments are designed, the aesthetic choices, the stories and the way they unfold are all reminiscent of Mass Effect. Whether its just Bioware's style showing or intentional, the game bleeds Mass Effect, which is why a Mass Effect MMORPG would be redundant, just like a Starcraft MMORPG had Blizzard made one years ago. I never said I was basing my assestments off the fact Star War and Mass Effect fall under the category of sci-fi.

That is a lot of text when you could have basically pointed out that KOTOR existed before Mass Effect and much more closely follows SWTOR.

I think the point is this: For a single company, doing two Sci-Fi MMOs set in similar universes (albeit also extremely different - but they are similar in that they are set in a very high technology environment spanning multiple planets), it doesn't make a lot of sense. It's like Blizzard making another Medieval Fantasy MMO, set in a different world to WarCraft. It could have entirely different races and story, but it's still too similar to make sense, you're appealing largely to a similar crowd and then mostly just competing with yourself. While Mass Effect is a cool game and all, and would make a successful MMO, most probably, it's highly unlikely we will see an ME MMO within the next 10 years, or at all really, simply because they've just done SWTOR and if they're going to do another MMO, it will more likely be set in a Fantasy world like Dragon Age or something else entirely different.

I voted for SWTOR expansions, but then I saw the option for Republic Commando 2. I loved the first, so definitely that (as unlikely as it is).
