    What to play...

So, I've just completed playing Skyrim for the 6th time and I'm looking for a new RPG to sink my teeth into.

First off, I loved Skyrim and Oblivion before that. So I'm really into that type of RPG, the fantasy kind of style.
I played throught it (Skyrim) with alot of different characters and it was just as awesome as the first time.
But now, 6 playthroughs later I find the quests a bit tedious. So therefor I need to find another game!

I've been looking up The Witcher 2, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and The Risen 2. All three look really good and I guess I'm posting this because I need help with picking one to start with.

Any thoughts on them(those of you that've played em all perhaps)?

Or if nothing else, other titles I should look into?

Check out the Kingdoms of Amalur demo, before you buy. I thought it looked amazing, and wonderful and en-capturing, played the demo, completely turned me off, glad i didnt dump $80 on it.

Have you tried Mass Effect 3? Pretty great if you enjoy the side missions and compelling main story.

I'll check out the demo! Hmm. No I haven't given Mass Effect 3 any thought really, not that it doesn't look good but I'm more into the fantasy, knight, magic RPG elements really. But I'll likely check it out at some point.

Mass Effect is a great game if you want a more story driven game and less action-y. Sure there is shooting enemies in the face but that is not the main focus of the game. It is a story game with shooting combat as a delicious side dish.

Mass Effect on the outside looks like a typical shooter, but there are some classes like the Biotic that mix up the franchise.

Are you playing on console or pc? i got the KoA demo on my xbox, played through it and at the end it wasnt what i had expected. dont get me wrong, the hack and slash of it was fun, and it looked pretty amazing, but i just felt that it didnt seem solid enough for its price, perhaps down the track when its cheaper.

I havnt really kept up to date with RPGs, so i dont really know many others to offer. But best of luck! Ive hit a bored, game-empty spot too, waiting for Ghost Recon to come!

Have you thought about trying any of the Dragon Age games?

    i love The Witcher ...
i read the books first, then i saw that a game will be released ... then i played The Witcher, again when the Enhanced Edition was released and THEN ...
i saw that CD Project Red was going to do a sequel ... and The Witcher 2 also has it's Enhanced Edition released by now ... the game is amazing.

It is not the typical RPG where you could generate your character to your own liking, you're stuck with Geralt ... but geralt simply is a cool character ^^
the world "The Witcher 2" leads you in is pretty rough and honest ... alot of curses, alot of prostitution, betrayal and the likes ... but in exactly this way it seems very believeable, one of the greatest charms a game can have.

after playing for 1 or 2 hours you will definately come to love the setting of the game, you will enjoy the characters and you will definately finish it !

go for the Witcher 2! (or better: go for 1 + 2 )

I also played the Kingdoms of Amalur Demo and the game too was amazing. Once you finished the Witcher you might also enjoy this one. it got alot of custimization for your character and an anstonishing vast lore.

Concerning Risen 2 ... did you ever play Gothic ? or Arcania ? Risen is very similar and has it's own charm. I personally don't like the playstyle, but i know alot of people who do. so it's your choice. try to get your hands on a beta first though.

Also someone mentioned Dragon Age ... i loved that as much as i love the Witcher!
Although alot of people disliked the sequel I enjoyed both games (1+2 + 1expansion) couple of times with different characters and setups.

I hated the Witcher games and found it's combat system one of the most idiotic to date... And I was really expecting a good game considering all the hype. Kingdoms of Amalur is nice for the first couple hours until it gets completely boring and repetitive. I'm kind of losing hope when it comes to RPGs. Skyrim was good though. I just find myself doing extra playthroughs in Fallout: New Vegas ._.

The combat system in The Witcher 1 was really akward at times ... but given some time to adjust it worked ... you simply had to click once your "sword swing" was ready, if you clicked before that you srewed up ^^

in The Witcher 2 it's a simple system -> one button for fast, quick strikes, one button for slow, heavy strikes, one button for signs and one button for additional weaponry (e.g. bombs, throwing knifes and the likes)

The Witcher 2 is amazing. I heard Kingdoms of Amaluer is good but has a lot of problems.

I have to recommend Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Great game I put 200 hours into it. It's like skyrim, mixed with fable, with god of war's combat.

Mass Effect's combat is a typical shooter with some extra flavor (biotic/tech powers, etc.) But I feel its far more story and character driven than other shooters.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, finally available for PC on Steam.

The most awesome game I've played lately, a fun, atmospheric adventure originally released for iPad.

Maybe I'll give the Witcher a try later on. Looks like an interesting game, but I've spent too much money on luxury items this month.

I'd also suggest The Witcher franchise and 2 is available on XBOX. Check out this review at Gameinformer.com The Witcher 2: Assasin of Kings, Enhanced Edition Game looks sick as hell!

After playing the beta, I change my answer to this. Guild Wars 2 was one of the most amazing games I have ever played. I am so glad my friend talked me into pre-purchasing ^-^
