If two roll the same on group loot who wins?

I had a 41 and another got (2nd in order) a 41 and then he won. How is it determined?

I wonder why it is hidden.

Because they weren't concerned about coding something that has a 1:10000 chance of occurring.

They coded [insert frustrating mount/pet drop here]!
You're not allowed to discuss conspiracy theories on mmo-champion, which makes me wonder what they're trying to hide.

I doubt there was anything to "code" in regards with the chat for that, considering the system for it is already in place.

And the chance for it happening, if only 2 people rolls, is 100:10.000.

Never knew this, always seemed to Think it was done Alphabetically. Even though that way would be unfair.

I once lost Precious Ribbon during a guild run when me and some1 else rolled the exact same, he won the Ribbon. And now he hasn't even logged in for 2 years ><

I think this is false. One person rolling a specific number between 1-100 would be that, but with 2 the chances are way lower.

I also thought it was alphabetically.

I was awarded the 'Needy' achievement (win an item with a need roll of 100) on a roll for which I actually lost the item. I rolled 100 and so did another player. The achiev popped up but I lost the second internal roll, thus losing the item.

If two people roll (1-100), there are 10.000 different combinations. 1 and 1-100, 2 and 1-100 and so forth. Out of those 10.000 different combinations there are 100 with identical rolls. 100 : 10.000 (or 1 :100) is therefore correct. It's pretty the much the odds of having the 2nd person roll the same as the 1st person.
