TV's! - Who do you think make the best these days?

So I'm looking into buying a new TV, somewhere between 32-44 inches.

I know you can get some cheap TVs with down right nasty resolution (this TV will be sat above my two gaming monitors) so it'll be really obvious if the resolution is bad.

Basically I want your opinions on who make the best TVs. Quality of the finish, the resolution as mentioned, handy stuff like built in free view, hubs at the back for connectivity, and general life span of the models.

If you have anything helpful (or even what not to buy and why) please feel free to post.

    Thanks

    I've always found Samsung's TVs/Monitors to have more bang-for-buck.

The top brands of TV (LG,Samsung,Sony,Panasonic etc) are made in the same exact factories in china using pretty much the same parts just in different designs.
99% of the TV share the same parts, the parts/suppliers who sell to the factories in china all build the TVs. They will order 100,000 parts and build all the brands with them, just using the different designs.

With the top 5 brands you're only paying for features, the actual quality of parts inside of it are the same, from the same place, from the same exact supplier.

    Samsung, of course.

    From a TV salesman:

If you want something cheap. Do not buy Samsung. You have to go up to the 6 series to get a proper 100hz, anything under is "fake" 100hz (Clear Motion Rate). = stuttery picture once the camera pans, eg. football, movies etc.

Grundig have some good ones for quite allright prices. Either VLE7139, or VLE8270 if you want 200hz and 3D. They have built-in Wi-Fi with youtube, facebook apps etc, but they do not have a open browser for surfing.

If you have a bit more money, I'd say LG is your best option this year. The LM series are all quite awesome. The 42LM760 if you can afford it (if you wanted 40-42 inch range), built-in everything apart from Satellite reciever for CA-Modules. And I mean everything. 3D, plex, open browser, motion sensitive controller for easy surfing, Wi-Fi for internet or network streaming. ++++
The LM615 is good too, but don't have the motion controller, not as good 3D, lower hz compared to the 760 but still good enough for movies and football. Only 3D is maybe sub-optimal if you go under 200hz. (by 200hz I mean REAL 200hz, not the fake hz - samsung CMR, philips PMR etc)
The LS570 is good too, if you don't care about 3D. Same as the LM615 when it comes to features, No built-in WiFi - needs adapter or cable, no motion controller but has quite good online features.

Philips have some good, I personally prefer either one of the good models in the 6 series with ambilight, or 7 / 8 series if you got the cash for them. They're more expensive than the other brands but VERY good picture quality. However kind of lacking with online features. Some models have the keyboard on the backside of the controller but they're still shit to use compared to the LG motion controller.
This years 5 series philips have also been massively upgraded from last years when it comes down to specs, but the quality of the production is lower than the higher series. You can FEEL it's a lot of cheap plastic when you touch it.

If you want a plasma, your ONLY choice is Panasonic. They have better black-level etc., but use more power, produce more heat, MUST be kept in a vertical position if you don't want to mess it up. To have a good flow in the picture like the 100 / 200hz LEDs, I'd at least go up to the GT50.

Not sure if you read this far, but hope it was at least a little helpful.

Samsung are fantastic at what they do, similar to corsair in quality and awesomeness. They look good, they work well, barely break down (in my experience).

Can't go wrong here, either one is fine.

If I had to pick one, it would be Samsung. You won't regret choosing Sony or LG though.

If you are going to use something a lot, never go for the cheap option.

    1. Loewe.
    2. B&O
    3. No other option

    ... :P

Of the "cheaper" brands I'd probably head for a Philips TV. They seem to be quite good.

I have an LG TV at this point and I'm fairly happy with it. It was extremely cheap and is only "HD-Ready", but it scales 1080p content well (this is a fairly exaggerated gimmick by LG but it's still a nice feature that you can feed it 1080p content without any major issues).

I've myself been looking at TVs loosely for the past month or so and I feel that those who impress me the most (image quality and responsiveness versus price) is either Sony or LG. Unfortunately, neither of the local electronics stores where I live stock the new Panasonic Plasmas, but I've heard a lot of good stuff about them.
