    Divine Star. Halo or Cascade?

Let's say I am going to do 5 mans and later on raids, which is best?

I have to admit I like the Halo animation best.

But which is best in terms of healing?

healing def Cascade especially in 5 mans or divine star in 5 mans does some damage and healing. Halo is good but to be at max range and hit a good number of targets is hard to do especially in raid settings. When i heal i use Cascade though

Thanks, I will have 2 Disc specs then, one with Halo, one with Cascade.

You can change talents now similarly to Glyphs. You don't need to re-spec anymore.

I swap between Cascade and Divine Star. Cascade if the raid is mostly spread out (I only raid 25man) and DS if we're stacked more than we're spread. I don't spec Halo currently as I don't have the regen to sustain it and it's a bit clunky to maximise the healing from it.

For 5mans, I always use Divine star. Available for every pull, does damage (I attonement heal alot anyway) and heals at the same time without requiring me to stand 25yards back.

I'm actually curious about Divine Star vs Cascade in stacking situation. DS was supposed to be superior for that, but Cascade got buffed some time ago. Besides, even Feng has a spread out phase, where Cascade pulls ahead, so I'm still not convinced Star is a better option.

Halo is out of question for me. Horribly expensive, long cooldown and has awkward positioning requirement. It does heal for a fairly impressive amount, but I don't feel like moving 25yd away from everyone and wondering if it's optimal range or should I move a bit to the sides now.

as a shadow priest i love Dark star because it counts as a single target spell (no diminishing returns when more than 6 targets) and gets double healing from Vampiric embrace.... heals people and the damage it causes heals people.... going out... and coming back....

I'm getting good results with Cascade in raids. Halo just seems to cost too much, have crappy positioning requirements and a longer CD. Overall I find cascade to be more useful.

Okay, then, Cascade for healing. :P Like it more than Divine Star anyway.

You may want to consider Halo as a shadow priest. Vampiric Touch will give you all the mana you could need for it, and it's much easier to stay in the 25yd range for the max damage (than it would be for a healer).

Do you have the class trinket? If so, the cast time is correct. /s

Why, WHY would you have the same spec for BOTH of your specs? Call it a peeve of mine, but I just can't see any rhyme or reason- its close to something an insane person would do. Why?

Halo is NOT good for 5 mans atm- you can easily pull an entire room due to its immense range. Go with Divine Star or Cascade.

Cascade on Elegon, Divine Star on Feng, Halo on everything else. Don't generally use the Halo for healing, and most of the time I never even cast it, but it does have use on some fights.

Divine Star on stacking fights and if mana is a concern. Positioning wise I use it like I do light of dawn (pallies). It's doing very well in a 25 man setting. Cascade I use during more spread out fights and mana is less of a problem.

My only problem with these heals is that it hits random pets, like imps. Sigh -_-

I am having the same as a shadow priest. It's for UI optimizing in PvE and PvP.

Definately wouldn't want halo for 5 mans. Halo can pull amazing numbers but you also run the risk of missing heals depending on how spread out people are, and for the cost/cooldown I'm just not a fan ( though I love it in pvp for unstealthing rogues. Divine star also requires some strategy. As an atonement healer I LOVE cascade.... Pop the button and it does the work, plus in 10/25 mans your guaranteed to hit a lot of people. I've been running the 25 man raid finder and have consistently gotten top heals, with cascade sometimes being my #1 spell.

why cant we have all of them :C:C:C:C

but seriously, divine star for 5man(it does quiet a bit of damage on trash for faster run) ive been using cascade only on my alt run so far, i do want to use halo but positioning kinda limits this spell :/ will try halo netx week!!

I found Cascade's healing to be underwhelming in 5mans due to the higher mana cost compared to divine star, but you don't really need any of them for 5 mans. They're all much better in larger groups from a healing perspective. Cascade is amazing in raids. Halo is too costly and positionally annoying. When the raid takes big damage, you're often stacked up for heals. This is the opposite of what you want for halo :\.
