    Do you like snow?

Heard a lot of complaining the last couple days where I live, as it recently began snowing. I was baffled by this. Personally, I think the atmosphere snow brings with it is amazing. Especially when it's close to Christmas.

    Interested in hearing your opinions.

It is just white dirt I like it as much as I like brown dirt except that the later doesn't fall from the sky.

Snowing in Portugal is pretty damn rare, atleast where I live, haven't seen snow in the zone of Cascais/Oeiras, in Lisbon, for over 3 or more years now.

Though there is snow in Serra da Estrela but it doesn't snow, I think, it's just water that freezes, then gets warm and it looks like snow.

Anyways, I don't mind snow, I've seen it once while I was on Praga and it was fairly nice.

I'm a biker so it's a bit of a shitter and there's not enough snow in this country to start using a snowscooter... how ever, up in my mother's house in Sweden it's amazing. There's so much snow every year you can replace a motorcycle with a snowscooter easily.

I love snow! Where I live in Canada we don't get very much snow but it gets rather cold and cold without snow sucks. I have family that live on the East Coast and visiting them in the winter is great because that always get lots of snow.

Love it. Waking up to a morning of fresh powder with the sun shining, and being the first person up the lift is a great feeling. And the shredding down the mountain.
    Snowboarding is where it's at

I wouldn't want to live (long term) in an area where there aren't 4 seasons. (with snow; northern hemisphere) I find seeing the seasons change kinda makes you know life is progressing and moving forward.

The first time it settles every Winter is amazing! It's so beautiful. After that, it's bloody awful. Brown sludge everywhere, traffic jams and slippery pavements. -_-'

Im not surprised that so many voted that it is amazing, Im sure a lot of those votes are from people from countries where it is rare or fairly rare, but when you have one third of the year constantly a ton of snow that makes walking, riding a bike, driving and a lot of other things really annoying you would not like it so much.

I live in Israel, on a good year we get maybe 3 months of snow, that is concentrated to a single mountain in the northernmost part of the country; I'm looking to move to a place where there's snow all year round (everywhere in the winter, on glaciers in the summer)

I used to enjoy it, hell, I even played in it as a teenager. But where I live we don't get packed, hard snow anymore and technology has allowed for clear roads almost everywhere... which is a bummer because as of the late 90s I have not been able to use my sled (its one my father had when he was young, metal and wood, and it was faster than any other kid's sled. I even got some air riding it one time over a bump). that sled only works when the snow is compacted on roads making it a nice olympic-like skeleton sledding surface.

As an adult now in his 20s with his own car, I don't like it as much. I worry about drivers and their inability to understand how their vehicle is handling under any condition. Because of that my time window between point A and point B (exp: going to work, which takes 10min, in snow its more like 45 due to traffic) always gets screwed up and a whole bunch of other problems others have/will mention too.

But I will agree with OP, I do like the white-ness snow brings to the landscape. I like how it muffles the sounds and if you pause (where I live) all you can hear is the snow falling, which is peaceful.

edit: I love driving in it too.... unless other drivers are around, then its like banging my head on a table becuase of how terrified they are and how much the wreck.

i like it because its rare. where i use to live we got snow for 1 or 2 days every few years, so it was always great fun when it did snow.

As long as it doesn't last for several months in a row, started snowing here a couple of days ago(west coast Sweden), been snowing on and off since then. First morning is always lovely, xmas times is cozy times and snow is part of that imo, but in the long run it gets tiresome.

Makes you appriciate the indoors though! It feels good to get into from the cold, have a cup of hot chocolate milk with the gf, get cozy under a blanket and then watch a great movie, good times.
The nerve is called the "nerve of awareness". You cant dissect it. Its a current that runs up the center of your spine. I dont know if any of you have sat down, crossed your legs, smoked DMT, and watch what happens... but what happens to me is this big thing goes RRRRRRRRRAAAAAWWW! up my spine and flashes in my brain... well apparently thats whats going to happen if I do this stuff...

It's alright, I hate the cold weather more.

Sure isn't so dark in here when there is snow on the ground, quite beautiful.
