Well, i am kinda undecided what i would get.
- First and foremost, my rig would need to be as silent as possible.
- Second, it needs to be low-maintenance. So a full custom water loop would be too much hassle.
- Third, i actually don't need that much power, so dual GTX690 or an i7-3970x are not necessary and would also contradict the first two rules.
All said, it is still tempting to build a rig with a Murderbox...
In the end, i would probably settle for something fairly similar to what i actually have now:
CPU: i5-3570k or i7-3770k
Heatsink: BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 2
RAM: 2x8GB 1866MHz Corsair Vengeance LP black
MB: Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (mainly for looks, else it would be an Asus P8Z77-V)
GPU: MSI GTX680 Lightning or GTX660 Ti
Storage: 2x 512GB SSD Samsung 840 Pro
PSU: Corsair AX760i with single sleeve kit
Case: Fractal Define R4 in black with window
All of the music and video files go onto a big NAS with several TB storage.
Why do something simple, when there is a complicated way?
Ryzen 7 2700X | BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 | 16GB DDR4-3200 | MSI X470 Gaming Pro | MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G | 500GB / 750GB Crucial SSD
Fractal Define C | LG 32UK550 | Das Model S Professional Silent | CM Storm Xornet
No it's just an SLI'ed 680 in theory. Therefor it has the same memorybus and limitations. The 4GB versions of the 670 and 680 both are slower, and cannot utilize the 4GB. And as we all know, SLI doesn't double your vram. Same with the 6GB versions of the 7970 etc. If you're going with that screen setup i'd take 2x7990.
Ofc, this post is to make your dream PC, but it would be kind of shit if you'd build a 20grand PC and hit a vram wall
Yeah. If I were to spend 2 grand on graphics cards I'd wait for the next release and get a 7970GHz or 680 to tide me over.
Also, to be fair, half of the 20 grand is budgeted for the desk
I'd have to wait for the 900D to be released anyway.

Then either a custom built desk that would take up much of the room it is housed in along with a very nice executive chair, or one of these things: http://www.mwelab.com/index.php/en/products/emperor-200 (I'd have to scale down the monitors).

If I were spending so much on a computer, it would be housed in a desk that would be made by me. I just couldn't actually see myself taking the time to put together such an amazing rig without making a one off chassis/desk to house it.
