Pet Battles: Not gaining any XP

I am not gaining any XP from pet battles. My pets get XP as usual, but I am not getting any myself. I tried fighting level 1 critters with several pets in different levels (even pets that were the same level as the one I was fighting), but no experience gained. I tried it on several characters too.

Is this a bug I am experiencing?

Because I think that was hotfixed. Was never intended to give so much xp.

It should still award some amount of xp, though. OP, what level are you? In the thread about the insane pet battle XP people stated that you won't get any xp from it from 89-90.

Also, at least for the trick last night, all pets had to be in a certain level bracket. If you have, for instance, two level 1 pets and one level 25 pet, you don't get XP for killing low level pets. Must be within 5 levels of the highest pet in your team. If there's a bigger difference than 5 levels, you don't get XP.

Worked for last night, but I assume that's no bug and an intended mechanic.

xp was hotfixed from giving 4% of lvl to much much lower right now.It still works the same,your entire team needs to be not more than 5 lvls higher/lower than critter you fight,so if farming in city,all 3 pets have to be max lvl 6

It's indeed nerfed. I got 102 XP at level 19, 6.996 at level 85. Where as I was getting 107k on another 85, yesterday.

As Badhairday said, it should still award a bit of XP. The OP was not getting any XP at all. Sounds like a different issue. I assume it's the 5-levels-apart bracket thing.

EU was hotfixed bout 4-5 hrs ago US still ok im getting 130k exp at lvl 86 US will be fixed soon

It's still decent XP. ALL pets on the team need to meet the 5 level rule though...even the pets you're not using. So if you're battling lvl 1 pets but have a lvl 25 taking up a slot, you won't get the XP at all.

Open the pet menu. Drag the pet from the list on the left to one of the three spots on the right. The right side shows your current team.

got from 86 to 88 and then it was 7 in the morning (since i life in a diffrent time zone and still play with my friends .. stupid i know but meh xD) and i thought .. shit sun is up .. and i need to sleep a bit since my gf will be here in 4 hours damn :P and when i logged in today it was broken already again :<

Oh that is probably why. My some pets in my team were higher level than 6 when I was fighting level 1 petsß

Seem to be a lot of people saying otherwise. Not sure how, but any way to provide proof? (I'll just test it when I get home from work anyway, but yeah..)

It seems the xp you get is tied to the zone (or pet level?) for example in Jade Forest I got 101k per win(3 x 25 pets) in Deepholm I got 96k (3 x 23 pets) and in Solozar basin I got 85k (3 x 21 pets) against 3 Snakes I can whip XT out, use heartbreaker, then tantrum and it'll kill the front pet and both back pets in 3 moves. Its an easy 85k xp imo.

Pet xp boosted by Safari hat, but no char boosts like looms or standards.

LF a kind soul to check something out for me

grab a level 10 toon and a lvl 90 mage friend with a 2-sitter flying mount. have your mage friend open a portal to pandaria and fly you to the BMAH area. do pet battles there and inform me of how much experience and percentual progress you got from a pet battle in a top level area (with no aggressive mobs) on a low level character
