Im giving up on Half Life 3

They never said there will be a HL3, so it's really your own fault for hyping yourself up for something that wasn't even hinted. You created a scenario in which you were disappointed. How is Valve at fault?

I guess that's one of the reasons the game doesn't get released and turns into a Duke Nukem Forever. The other is Steam itself. It's such a cash cow that there is no real need to create games anymore. They get rich by running Steam.

While I have no doubts that there are cliques etc. at Valve, this was coming from a woman who was fired from the company and gave Gaben and them an ultimatum that they either fund her project or give it to her when she leaves...because you can totally tell your employers to do that and not be a self centered asshole asking for reasons to get fired...

So I wouldn't say she's the most credible source.

OT: Meh, I know it's coming out eventually, but I'm just not "waiting" for it. Valve takes fucking forever to finish things. Fuck, TF2 took 9 years IIRC, and that game is much smaller in scope and size compared to a game like HL2.

The fans have created an extreme set of standards for a would be half life 3 title. It would be impossible for Valve to ever create a product that satisfies the the hype and expectations. Thus, the only sensible thing to do is to not attempt to it at all, kind of refusing to play the game.

To me it just seemed Valves system didn't work for hardware development. And she said, given they kick all of the hardware deparment out, they should fund the project externally or give it to them. Not wanting your project to be abandoned isn't that odd to me.

A lot of people are hoping for HL3 but it hasn't been anounced or even hinted at. I guess all I'm trying to say is don't get your hopes up.

some people can be total jackasses, clearly he's talking about Half-Life 2 Eps 3 / HL3 AKA the next installment we've been waiting for a decade. And its was never officially announced but they did hint that they might make the last episode into a bigger expansion
