as per http://www.businesswire.com/news/hom...Shares-Vivendi wow subs are at 7.7m
edit: is a drop from 8.3m which frankly is not that bad.

I was expecting it to drop more to be honest, with the summer and all. I imagine it will go back up a little bit with patch 5.4, or stay around the same.
I think we are starting to stabilize a bit now, also, odds are people are getting rid of second accounts and what not.

What was it at before? Not like it matters much anyway
Quick question: So?
Well this thread is about to blow up. How much down is that from last time? 600k?
Ahh that's what I thought, 600k. That's not as bad as I thought it would be, it being so late in the expansion. It'll likely hover near there (probably losing more but not much) until the next expansion.
It does make you wonder where Blizzard gets their numbers from though. Most of the US servers feel pretty dead minus a hand full where the majority of the player base seems to congregate. Dunno how it is on the EU side. Are there really that many Chinese players?
5.4 can only help the game, so i honestly dont think wow will go below 7m subs Until at least halfway through the next expanison.
US servers are stable compared to chineese ones. My server and all the servers i play on feel about like they did at the end of cata when wow still had around 9m players. I honestly think at least 70% of all losses since MoP have been in China alone, and they said the majority have been every quarter.
I expected them to be sub-7.5m at this point. MoP is actually doing far better than Blizz expected.

If 5.2 which had one of the best raids we've seen in a while as well as quite a lot of extra content didn't help subs go up, I doubt 5.4 will.
