    Player Orcs need straight-backed posture

Not *completely* like Thrall, however; I would give them a more intimidating, almost brooding stance. Chin down, hulking shoulders turned inward just a bit, really playing up their large, muscular frames. Like Thrall, however, they should be more proportionate, and their fingers should be a little more "squared", instead of soft and bulbous.

These are no longer the primitive, tribal Orcs of Draenor that we're playing; we are the proud, warrior-race that has forged a place in a world that is not their own, banding together and ultimately leading the other strong-willed races of the Horde. We're not playing dumb peons; we're playing the best that the Orcish race has to offer, and their posture should reflect their warrior spirit.

I may not play anymore, and perhaps to some that automatically invalidates my opinion, but I firmly believe that it is in the game's best interest to embrace its more serious side, not *just* the lighthearted, more cartooney aspects of Warcraft.

If you don't like playing Orcs you can always just try one of the many other races. As for me, I'd like to keep my Orc as it is.

True, but none of them look like this:

    http://media.blizzard.com/wow/media/...mmar-large.jpg

That is not only incredibly badass, but it speaks more of the gravitas of the Orcs' history. Warcraft may be filled with tongue-in-cheek humor, but at its core, it is still a strong fantasy setting; it's what made it so incredibly popular to begin with. The new Orcs seem to revel in that lighthearted aspect, but it doesn't carry the same weight. Particularly their enormous hands and small legs.

If possible, I would very much like it to be an option, so that each player can choose their preference. Barring that, however; if they're taking the time to revamp the old models, then they need to bring them to what they're constantly depicted as in the artwork, not just "what people are used to".

I like orcs the way they are, I like the barbaric look, plenty of people do. You're just trying to push something based on your preferences, changing models significantly just because you decided not to like the look anymore is too much of a makeover - I for example don't like the new Thrall model, or the old one in Cata. It's just not Orcish.

As for the new Orc models, I think they look great, keeping the same look - just updated, that's how all new models should be like, keeping the essence. I don't want to login one day and find my Orc turned into a pussy ass Thrall.

Gotta agree, thrall model looks weak and humanish. The other models look so much more badass. Orcs should be muscled hulking brutes, not upright.

See, I see the hunch-back as more "stupid ape-man" than "barbaric", but to each his own, I guess. I would argue, however, that male Orcs have been inconsistent since day one; the only Orcs to have *ever* been shown with a hunch-back were Peons, and I believe Gul'dan. Even now, artwork *only* depicted Orcs as standing up-right. Hell, even the bloody promotional art for Warlords of Draenor has them standing upright.

I'll agree, I don't think Thrall looks quite "orcish enough", but that's fine, given his character. He has a proud, noble stance, which doesn't really mesh with the rest of the Orc race. I don't think that necessarily means all other Orcs need to stand hunch-backed, though. If anything, the hunch-back is *more* prominent on the new models than the old.

Also, I hate how warped the textures are on chest-armor and tabards.

Speak for yourself. Us female orcs are quite capable of keeping a proper posture, thanks :P

When you try to humanize orcs you just get a freak of nature, like the new Thrall. Orcs should never be humans. Humans look cool the way they are, Orcs look cool the way they are.

This is also what sets WoW apart from other mmos, races looking so distinct. There's way too many games out there where you have humans, sort of humans, elves, elves with pointier ears, slightly broader human race, etc...

I think Blizz is doing a great job with the new models, there hasn't been a case where I think it looks worse or even different - just updated.

So ironic they got the Female orc model so right and utterly fucked up the male model.

Male Orcs DONT LOOK LIKE IGOR FROM DRACULA!

and please dont bore me with how many man hours it would take and that captain our servers cant handle the polygons or some bullshit.

This is 2014 and we are at the stage of almost photo realistic graphics and here blizz cant even get a model of a race that is suppose to be front and centre of there whole fucking franchise right!

that's my newer characters are female orcs. They seem strong, while the males seem....stupid?

If Thrall is wearing another Orcs armor, that isnt made for hunch over orcs, than he's not the only standing straight up orc

I'd like to point out that you(people pro hunched orcs) are the minority. I'd like to make a witty and a somewhat rude remark about democracy, but I don't want to get infracted

The only reason female orcs aren't hunched over is the same reason as to why female trolls aren't hunched like the males. They got the "female alien syndrom". In other words most monster or alien females depicted in movies/comics/books/games are never as monstrous as their male counterpart (except Alien in Alien <3) because they are supposed to appeal instead of scare.

I wouldn't mind getting the alpha troll females back, to put it like that

Animate Orcs as Peons from the RTS was one honest mistake from Blizzard. Why perpetuate this mistake as willing failure goes over my head.

There's no pleasing the internet. When females of other races look like they belong in those races, players outrage 'cause no sexies. When they look aesthetically pleasing, players outrage 'cause evil sexism.

Also, orcs' posture fits the race. Why would neanderthals walk upright?

Because, dunno which dev but one outright said they would 'focus on keeping the charactrer models the same design just updated', out of fear if they change things like posture it would make people quit...

Except, you know, when they did it with goblins.

Damn i forgot to add the words LOL to my last statement so people wouldn't take what i said as serious.

As for your second statement in the warcraft universe the Orcs were never hunchbacks they weren't in Wc1, Wc2, or Wc3 in any of the cutscenes or during the gameplay.

Most people now see them as hunchback because of the design blizz did when they first designed WoW and now are like well most people prolly never saw or played the previous games so lets not rock the boat even though most of the player base has asked for the non hunchback design.

Makes sense. If they stop beating the players of Horde Faction, Alliance Players would quit the game.
Oh Wait they don't quit, they just Bully the ENTIRE Company to death.
