    Hilarious LEGO Window Licker

    https://uk.news.yahoo.com/lego-sorry...8.html#6bpc75h

Essentially LEGO released a new toy with the description "Part frog, part chicken, part back-of-the-bus window-licker, this Mixel has the longest tongue of them all." - Now this is either a hilarious accidental bad wording or ridiculous insensitive joke

Maybe the toy sits in the back of the bus and licks windows. Context is key when it comes to discrimination.

Just wanted to congratulate Blizz for giving the folks what they wanted, a classic vanilla world.

I believe the PC word for that is DERPY now.

Pretty certain they are not claiming it to be a "part chicken, part from, part retard"..

Only those with delicate sensibilities and the professional victim complexers/SJW will create an issue over this

People are overacting over some slang urban dictionary expression when it is obvious it weren't meant in that way

if they hadn't included "back-of-the-bus" this wouldn't be an issue.

The fact it mentions a bus, where the term originates (children on the special bus licking windows). The intent is irrelevant, it's a moronic PR error that should've being spotted

I'm not offended by the choice of words, but I AM pretty sure they meant derpy/retarded/mentally handicapped/whatever. I'm not sure why else you would specifically mention a bus and licking windows, given the very specific stereotype that exists about those two conditions.

Oh, it's obvious? Can you explain what the intended meaning was, then?

They might have gotten away with it if they didn't include the "back of the bus" part. Can't really claim ignorance in that case. Without that it's pretty innocuous unless you got up and just REALLY needed to be offended by something that day.

This is the internet. Getting offended and professional victimhood is a growth industry these days.

Given that this is a description of a Lego it can only be one of two things.

1 - The person who wrote it had heard the phrase, but didn't really understand what it was about. Possibly lost in translation?

2 - It was a single rogue employee trying to cause damage to the company

Lego are not in the business of debating mental health issues, or the use of language that surrounds them. They are in the business of selling toys. Anyone with a full knowledge of what the phrase means would have known that it would not further their goal of selling toys.

I did not know what that meant, but now I can see why some people are offended. Wonder why someone would call it that.

Some designer probably heard the term "window licker" from their kids and decided to use it, not knowing that it was a derisive term used for the mentally handicapped.
