Recommend + Criticise this build please.

So, I was going to upgrade my old build but as I was thinking of upgrading this and this and this I kept thinking well if I do this I may as well do this and so on which has led me to just wanting to get a new computer. Last time I asked MMOChampion to put together a build for me but I thought I'd try it myself this time. Here's what I have so far

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/registry/wis..._t-7hwbSS477SC

And I was hoping somebody could criticise things I need to change and could recommend me a CPU, but I'm not sure if I even need to replace it, my current one is:

    CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

    Thanks for any help

The case you listed ... personally I very much dislike that one .. but a case is personal to most.
I would recommend you having a look in Phanteks f.ex. for cases, generally better build quality.

    Regardless onto technical details:

Your Mobo and RAM choice would mean you would HAVE to change out your CPU as the last motherboard to support your current CPU is with a Z97 chipset.
    Also Z97 uses DDR3 RAM.

Technically I would say stick with the CPU you have and overclock that thing and spend more money in something else, like an SSD.

Speaking of which, which games are you wanting to go for.

I already have an SSD, monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, OS etc. I'm just replacing the "main" computer

I want to be able to run everything that's out and for the next year, and stream. I was trying to stream LoL last night and my FPS was horrible and my RAM was going nuts and capping out.

You said I should stick with the CPU I have, but I thought you said it's not compatible with the new motherboard I have chosen?

    Correct.

Hence me giving out the last motherboard chipset for the CPU.
Actually I only just realized I made a horrible mistake in that as well.

Your CPU goes only as far as Z77 motherboards, my apologies.

Well list what you have right now and we'll see what we can do for you. (And I do mean every component of your current computer)

But personally you don't NEED a Socket 2011-v3 with a 6 or 8 core CPU.
    That's pure bragging rights.

If you overclock your CPU with that cooler you chose you have a good ceiling to work to.
You could try how that runs (possibly doubling your RAM if that's an issue) and later decide if you want a more proper upgrade or not.

But most issues are solved by overclocking and doubling RAM for your case. (if it's capped out)

Is my current, I honestly just pretty much want to replace everything. Instead of spending £500 or so upgrading. I'd rather spend £1200 on buying all new components. And it's already overclocked with "OC Genie II" that's on my current motherboard.

    Fair enough,

You want a new rig, that's perfectly fine.

Your selected components would work no issue (I am assuming scavenging parts from the old rig).
Grab a standard Intel Core i7 5820K with that and overclock it and enjoy the ride.

In the meanwhile you can send me the leftovers of your old system

The only parts I'll be taking from the old system are monitor, hard drive ssd etc. So If I get an i7 5820k with all the parts listed in the OP it'll all work out?

And I was actually wondering what people do with old parts, is there a market for 2nd hand PC components or not?

    Yup, it'll work.
Though personally I find 128GB SSD to run out of space rather quickly these days, you may want something bigger possibly?
Also since you're interested in streaming a bigger HDD may also be an option.

But barring that it will work out perfectly fine.

Depends upon the country really, I do not know the UK's 2nd hand market but here in the Netherlands it's quite active.

And I do not mean eBay and shite, there are plenty of gems for people to build computers from for cheap.
Most people overestimate what they need by far and think computers from 3 - 4 years ago are slow piles of crap.

I tend to make a lot of builds for a variety of people all across Europe and Dutch 2nd hand prices in general are often times stupidly good.

    Example:
I picked up an AMD Phenom II 1090T with 8GB of DDR3 RAM (1333MHz CL9, 2 x 4GB) as well as an ASUS Crosshair IV Formula and a cheap random case, all in perfect condition for £ 88,- total.
For a person on a budget that still wants a very potent gaming rig that will make 1 hell of a budget rig.

Is there an option for a less expensive CPU?

For that mainboard that is literally the cheapest CPU around.

If you want something cheaper then go Z170 chipset mobo and grab either a i5 6600K or i7 6700K.
Difference, barring clock speed, is i5 = quad core but no HyperThreading and i7 = quad core but with HyperThreading (4 virtual extra cores if you will)

The i7 for X99 chipsets (like the one you picked) start off with Hexa cores and go up to Octa core.

    Try this f.ex.:
    ASUS Z170 Sabertooth Mark 1
    Intel Core i7-6700K
    Intel Core i5-6600K

You want balls to the wall you go for the i7, you want good (successor to what you have now) you go i5.

The simple explanation, the i7 isn't "NEEDED" but if you're spending money already don't care too much go for that one.

If you're simply looking to upgrade to sort out any streaming issues, you could go the (free) software route first. OBS with QuickSync encoding enabled is my streamer of choice as it uses the CPU's built-in hardware encoder for a near-zero performance hit to streaming; I'm sure there's an AMD solution that'll use some of your HD 7870's resources, but you might as well tap into a reservoir of power you are not currently using.
    Super casual.

You should get a new CPU - an i7, for starters.

    EDIT: Oh, you did. Good.
