Am I ready for Unholy? (gear)

So last night I got my 4pc, it's a mixture of normal and heroic gear. My question mainly revolves around the fact that 1. I still don't have the legendary ring 2. My trinkets are garbage, I'll link my armory, I also have access to the Skull of War (I DON'T and WILL NOT have the Vial) 3. We are progressing on heroic fights, but generally our AoE is stellar

Is there any point to me switching to unholy yet? I know BoS is great when paired with the ring and vial, I have neither, necroblight isn't viable because our AoE is great, and while we are progressing on heroic, we've needed no more than 4 pulls to down any boss on our 1st try, we are just a 1 night a week guild who have only been raiding for around a month seriously.

The 2h'ers: I have access to are a normal Hellrender and Maul of Tyranny with a socket (I'm assuming hellrender is still better?)

Get the class trinket from Archi
Get rid of the seal ring, versatility for frost is a waste
Try and get UeH from gorefiend
Use the better enchants on rings as well
Hellrender for UH and give it a go!

As much as I appreciate your time and reply, this is exactly the sort of thing I'm not looking for. I understand that my trinkets and rings are garbage (also the enchants, which I'd be switching to multi anyway I believe), and I also understand the items I'd be happy to see to replace them. But what I'm asking is with what I currently DO have, is the switch to unholy appropriate. Again, I don't mean to sound rude, I appreciate your attempt to help, just not the answer I was looking for.

Maybe the best answer is for me to just try it, but I know there's a great deal of people with many more months of experience than the one month I've had in WoD, and may know just by looking. I just don't fully trust sims or myself with interpreting the dps difference.

Skull of war with BOA trinket is fine for breath, you should @least try and do heroic brf a few times for the cache you never know you might get it on ur first cache xD

Your gear is fine to go unholy as long as you have a 2hweapon same ilvl or higher than your mainhand/oh

Honestly if you don't have legendary ring or Vial you probably won't want to go Breath and will want to just stick with Necroblight. Necroblight honestly isn't terrible for any type of fight, decent on single target, great on AoE. I would recommend just trying Unholy Necroblight on a few fights with Hellrender since it's BiS and see how you like it / perform.

Vial isnt a requirement to do good with BoS alot of dk's dont have it and still perform well. Just a matter of how well you can play breath.

As zaFierce said, your gear is fine to go unholy, as long as your 2hander ilvl is equal or higher to your frost mh/oh.

Class trinket is shit for UH unless adds are staying up way to long and its doing 12-13% (i think that's the breakpoint) of your damage. Which probably will not be the case since he said his group's AOE is good.

Thank you guys for your responses. Looks like the consensus is to switch and just try it, so I will. My Hellrender is 710, my frost MH/OH is 715/710, so not a huge gap. I'm extremely comfortable with necroblight and ghoul management. Will just have to test out BoS, glad I don't have to farm Vial because I simply don't have the time, barely have enough to raid as is.
