When I buy a token from the character selection screen is it automatically redeemed?

I was just wondering. Token price right now is sort of good but I do not plan to re-sub for a week or two so if I were to buy a token right now, would it also be automatically redeemed or do I get the chance to keep it and use it whenever I feel like?

Automatic redemption if bought from the character selection screen.
Some people have had success in asking blizzard for 1 day credit so they can buy tokens in-game.
If you can, consider having a lower level alt around with sufficient funds to buy a token.
As long as it is sub-lvl 20 then it should I believe be able to buy a token even if the gametime has lapsed.
It isn't redeemed automatically if bought in-game via the auction house.

If your account is inactive, and you purchase it from the character selection screen, then it is automaticly used/consumed/redeemed. If you buy it ingame, you'll have it in your inventory.

Some can get 12-24-72 hours of WoW gametime from Blizzard, though they will have a look at your account before so.

If you have a game token you already bought in a character's inventory and game time lapses. The log in screen should show you have an existing token to be used.


SO if you are thinking of taking a break til launch... just buy a token now... alternately you can send a <20 alt say 50k gold and log into it as trial and buy one later.
