Democratic Election 2016 - Hillary Clinton Megathread [OFFICIAL]

Now that both parties have settled on official candidates, we're going to try and keep discussion to just two megathreads; American election threads are currently 1/4 of GenOT, which is drowning out other subjects.

This thread has been designated for discussion of the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, and her policy platform and so forth. We have another thread here for discussion the Republican candidate, Donald Trump.

    A few things before we kick off;

1> Flaming other users, no matter how much you disagree, is not okay. If you're that angry, just take a breather.

2> There's a difference between "valid criticism" and "political bashing". And the latter is against site rules. These threads are not excuses to be abusive to each other. Everyone has to play nice. "I disagree with X because of Y and Z" is criticism. "All Y are idiots and want to destroy the world" is bashing. It's not all that subtle a difference.

3> Please try and keep the discussion separated. You can reference the other party/candidate for comparison's sake, but actual discussion of the other platform or candidate should be in their respective thread.

4> The discussion is about the elections; if you want to talk about other candidates who failed to make the grade and such, that's fine, as long as we maintain the separation by party. The candidates are listed because it's expected they'll be primary focuses, and because it makes for easier searching and such.

Darn, and I was hoping for more threads about how Trump is winning or losing, or how Hillary is winning or losing. Oh well, VOTE FOR TRUMP!

The problem with these mega threads is that legit talking points get lost in a swarm of stupid stuff and it gets really confusing.

    How come?
We're managing just perfectly the gun debate in that meta thread. Think about it.
In the end, it's just out of line. I can see it already. A plethora of threads, because every second forum user thinks they've to make their own for that little tiny bit of information.
Let me offer another view instead.
Meta threads serving very well by burying unnecessary news bits, and instead keep debate worthy points afloat.

Get out and vote people, the Republicans aren't going to go down easy and if you take a look at their party platform and legislative agendas you can see just how much damage they are eager to do.

    VOTE!!!
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov

Gun thread is one subject and it's just a back and forth, and if you read it then you know it's a terrible thread. Things on political candidates will branch into many different subjects.

True, or just the same fake meme as the Trump one from the People magazine?

When facts and logic utterly fail you, fall back on conspiracy theories and empty rhetoric.

When someone calls you out, explain to them that they just don't get it and didn't look in the right places.

Yes, Snopes is so unreliable and biased. We'd better just stick with the known lie in the image you linked straight from a conservative blog.

Well this thread got off to a great start. I'm eager to explore the depths of shitposts that will surely emerge from both megathreads!

It's actually on you to provide uncontested content, not on me/us to disprove it.
And nope, Snopes is a credible source, as others said.
That Snopes claim you've just said, I know where that comes from, and that was fact checked too btw.

    First page.

Defeating Trump should trump all other considerations this election.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Ive never seen Kaine before Hillary picked him, but after seeing him a few times I cant understand how she could pick him. He just looks like a classic evil villain (giant toothy smirk) and his face always looks like someone grabbed him by the ears and stretched the skin on his face back as far as it would go. Hopefully we dont need to see much more of him

Dunno maybe. What's illegal is to have illegal immigrants at your Convention!
